I don't care if he has to accidentally have a sinkhole fall under this man's feat, and summon the lord of subterra or some shit, if they are gonna sell the fake thing they gotta at LEAST make him look cool man
the portrayal of the chimera garden in the anime is what did it for me, it didnt feel as epic in the manga
the idea that this level 8 ungodly beast reigns hell on earth as a side gig for your up and coming party went hard, I just wanna see more scenes where at the very least some stroke of luck or some paltry effect happens to turn for the better and actually make him look good, the last one we had was a golem fucking tripping on itself it doesnt look impressive in the slightest irrelevant of it being fake
ideally, and im not sure how this would play out narratively, I'd love to see that grieving whatevers party is actually not blindsided, and cry is just ignorant; not of his true strength but abnormality
like I want to believe they know cry probably isn't landing a punch harder than liz or a slash better than luke's, but he has his own gimmick that very reliably results in his ability to always stand ontop, the trust we see here really just feels unfounded
like it's taking a constant stream of suspension of disbelief to permit the plot progression,
I wouldn't even mind if it was an inherent foresight that makes it so all his dumb luck predictions are actually explainable, because I CAN have blind trust in that
it would also put moer weight on his fighting capability to be able to coincidentally have the perfect sets and amounts of relics (which are crazy expensive and rare, and vary in effectiveness typically) for the most niche of niche scenarios, which always result in an overwhelming victory
like if he was always carrying pieces of the puzzle but didnt know about it
brought me here, greatest gift <3
the grieving shadows or something
got my hopes up for nothing :(
just a master ultra super martial artist freka of nature type sh (??)
as far as im aware tho it was a gimmick he exploited with the dimenison mid fight though, it isnt lik kaiden's raw power is far above the top 10 at this point rn right
really I thought I was aiming at quad with a hyperbole of discontent
I didn't think mister big guy behind his laptop feared the spooky scary anime character!
don't worry bro, it won't jump out of the screen
but maybe we can definitely possibly acknowledge that if that comment you made (unlike most on the internet, my saving grace) reflects you in any way you have some genuine issues in your thought process and mental state, and should seek help <3
it really is the way you thought "mildly annoyed" because that kind of leans into the more realistic side of commenting, away from trolls
so either this is some reverse psychology tech (in which case kudos you are funny) or you suffered a severe head injury as a child and have gone borderline sociopathic (only on the internet tho)
it feels like everyone who reads this just ignores every other context and goes "woah dude fight mc for no reason???? dude dumb mc cool" (<-- not you all but most commenters istg)
if she was actually competent she would voice her concerns that the newbie isn't to be trusted? I am almost completely certain they did that IMMEDIATELY before the mission and was shut down but maybe I really am just making things up in my head for her to look nice
Under those contexts the next obvious step is most definitely to confront and address the rat in the room (that being the strange rich highschooler kid who forced his way into the organisation but practically refuses to assimilate with them until the first mission which is also an incredibly important mission and not something that should be trusted WITH A SUSPICIOUS HIGHSCHOOLER WHO JUST FORCED HIS WAY INTO THE ORGANISATION)
the only valid claim here is that as a bow she should of utilised some vanguard but for all we know in-lore her bow fighting style could have been dedicated to one on one battles, we don't particularly see any of the org members grouped or paired up in the first place do we?
she's more than intelligent enough, very cautious by immediately confronting him whilst on the guise of a mission (ideally out of supervision from her boss) after PROPERLY fleshing out his character with a set of questions he was increasingly less willing to answer considering how upfront he was about joining the terrorist organisation and impressing their boss directly with his blood moon gimmick trick
if anything I just wanted to see him be less "on equal grounds" with her because all this time we've portrayed them as powerful individuals, wherein mc had to rely on tricks and hax to fool them and yet somehow he's always been as strong as them, realistically it adds up but narratively it doesn't
also "she doesn't know anything" is crazy when just by attacking our mc she's probably more aware than half the organisation now, not only about the extent of his capabilities (because he did NOT show allat fighting mobs under the bloodmoon afaik) but also because mc is more than willing to go against the organisation, not sure if the boss is being intentionally dumb abt mc being able to betray them because she feels she can just powertrip anyone but blue hair is ultracool for that
I love mc but there should always be a limit to how far they're allowed to fiddle
"The rule of every organization ever created is..."
when referring to a band of magic assassins in a world completely fictional and truly unpredictable, where the hierachy at the highest level was based off who could survive crazy tests and look the strongest
What do you expect when your organisation is formed off people who seem most convenient? But that's beside the point, I was never trying to say she was an ultrasmart super genius upright person nor am I trying to argue that she isn't being a bit childish here
it's more about the narrative implication that the author is still willing to permit characters to conflict or work against our main character while still being relevant and included within the plot; too many times chars will be reduced to nothingness if they ever have any conflict with the main character, unless they're like the big baddie or something but even then you can see hints of plot convenience
So the fact that within the powerhungry organisation of murdercrazy terrorists, a character who seems reasonable sussed out mc for being suspicious, because in every sense of the word he was being suspicious, and
there's a difference between being a good person to a select brink of people, being a jerk, and just straight up being psychopathic
these guys taunted her as they killed her, and with absolutely no exaggeration are gonna exploit the heavenly doctor who thinks she just escaped from the most stressful segment of her life, we aren't just killing women for fun but harming the elderly and committing unecessary manslaughter on whims?
besides being immoral it's completely unjustified in every sense, I was tipsy when he started ego-killing everyone on the ship "just because" but seriously
I mean, just because someone is from the evil faction doesn't mean that they would kick a dog just for the fun of it, but that's exactly what our lead demon fella is doing
there was no political, literal, psychological, economic gain, the only thing this does is depress and demotivate the grandma, it was absolutely unnecessarily brutish to an extreme degree
When I hear evil faction I can slide them ruining this informants business for their own gain, or being selfish with their techniques, or even the merciless and downright cruel warfare, but the behaviour he displayed in that chapter was like "I wouldn't mind bombing a civilian shelter if it looked comedic" type evil and yet was played off completely casually, I can't actually tell if it's in character but coming back to the series that was like
like I was actually shook when I read that, the only thing on my mind was "the fuck??? why did we need to do that?????" It's a level of violence that in every sense, metawise, lorewise, narratively that was simply uncalled for
