People like Yuichi are more likely to be trusted by adults cus he can reason with his actions and while some will hate him, he's more likely to be trusted when he's doing something while Ayanokoji (i haven't read/watched it) like you said who does things under radar will not be trusted by others and are only beneficial if they are working alone. Yes he might win trust but when the curtain is lifted he would have equally lost that trust and trust is such a thing that once lost it's never easy to gain again.
So realistically imo, Yuuichi would fare better if it's based on real world scenario (not saying would win every time). It's like people who try hard to make others trust on them are realistically more suspicious in return.
