i still see and feel how it's is on my perspective per my opinion, but i do can see how the plot progress as per your description, but once again, the way they did it's is not exactly really good, too much thing happen at everyhing at once, while MC barely getting any spotlight or whatsoever, way less compared to the previous arc.

Not really, atleast first arc wasn't narrated that way and yes, i reread this than just saying nonsense, especially after the long stop of translation aka recently when it's starting to get translated again just to remember what the plot is about.

I'm gonna drop this i guess :\\, too much thing going on at the same time while MC keep getting pushed out of frame of relevancy, would've understand it if was built like that premise, like some other comic where it's emphasize world building and character than just MC, but this one doesn't really do that formula in the beginning or was build for one.

Gonna miss this...been following this series from the beginning it's has english translation, but it's was worth it.

Feel like MC slowly being pushed aside, while i do like that side character get attention, the ratio is too far off however, that you can easily confuse who is the MC at this point if you forget this manga after the hiatus...

Fair do, i do love that kind of view, albeit a bit of naive and objective, since it is almost close to impossible for an finite and subjective being to achieve (us, human, MC, and other mortal and subjective lifeform), especially in front of cosmic scale level being or situation that inherently limit one decision or choice to act upon (Hence in my view, MC not an morally questionable, for he didn't have any nefarious or insidious nature or intent in his purpose and choice, and that the situation doesn't allow for other choice, it's either invading or being invaded (remember those otherworlder invade first onto planet earth, they didn't come for peace, but subjugation, just like MC side are), Unless one is omniscient and omnipotent.

But i still deeply respect the spirit and idea to strive for it, an ideal after all is strive to be achieved, however we still need to know the limit when it's comes, ideal is useless if the striver is terminated or that it's came with the cost of other or the innocent (of course, you could argue that the otherside have their own innocent, hence it's close to impossible to achieve for non omniscient and omnipotent lifeform).

It's is you could argue, a trolley problem, MC have enough strenght and power to decide which track the trolley can route, but utterly lack in it fully, to stop the trolley altogether, so it's looped back to us or them. I do agree with the sentiment of killing a conscious and intellectual lifeform is a killing no matter what, and no excuse for it (even if it in self defence where neither side have choice but to harm other). But it's just...understanding the limit as finite and mortal creature can do, and sometime, there no good or bad choice, only less bad.

Oh btw, the 3rd path i mention is something spoiler way later, it's not exactly related with our discussion, but rather something that tied up with the series ending itself.

Morally questionable? No, MC have always been lawfull good, he always did everything with the idea of mankind survival through and through. Questionable morality would imply that he have nefarious intent behind his action, which there none.

Don't forget, MC cames from original timeline where the world and society is very much ruined up if human were too become lax and lacking, without his action and intervention, it's would play out the same way.

As MC say, you need to read the entire flow, and not just the event right in front of you. It's easy to conclude he is morally questionable just by cherry picking a part or two in story, but when you see the whole chapter so far, it's not even close to morally questionable.

The key is that, in front of two cosmic god that waging war again each other, humanity is barely anything but just a lowly but usefull soldier, morality doesn't matter when said cosmic god doesn't adhere or understand morality itself. All they care is the value and usefullness of them.

Maybe when they eventually introduce the two cosmic god, how they think and act later on, you would come to understand how damn amazing MC is in spite of it all, and from the choice of either submitting or being annihilated, he managed to open up and choose a 3rd path (ending spoiler).

Yep, they make it as if the breath guy completely dominating the old guy, when in hindsight, all that hard effort and he only managed to inflict that single wound.

Well, i get it, but the problem with your vision is that.

There a time for a joke and a time for when need to be serious, at the time when the sword guy was asked, he already makes the situation tense by refusing the king offer to marry his other daughter, so anything said on that time frame by nature is taken seriously, joke or not, answering that "The one I'm in love/attracted, is gu changge." Is definitely will make the sword guy have bad end either way. Even if he were to answer like yours, it's doesn't make sense either, because they asked him who's he romantically interested that makes him dare to reject the king marriage offer, not anything else.

And such, if Gu changge were to retort or straight up killed him if the sword guy were to said those word, it's not make him rigid, unreasonable, or anything else because specifically the situation, the atmosphere, and the built up right there. It's can be taken as offense easily because to entertain such idea itself can imply that Gu Changge may have such thought or desire, which socially taboo or deranged there, and if Gu Changge were to just brush it off, it's can cause rumour, because that just how human/society work.

And even if Gu changge just brush it off as a joke despite the inappropriate time, the sword guy may not instantly lynched, but he definitely will be socially dead, the only way for the sword guy to actually unscathed is if Gu Changge were to actually play along or entertain the idea, which I'm sure as heck he wouldn't ever, not only that would make his reputation famished, it's might make his relationship with his harem a bit awkward.

A non-platonic confession to Gu Changge would be seen as an outrageous social affront and an attempt to drag the King's reputation and Gu Changge's reputation through the mud.


Basically, i know that so far it's shown how much changge have manipulated everyone and everything, but still, never underestimate how a reputation could collapse in one day, and it's can be from something non sense or absurd. And gu changge definitely wouldn't risk that, he may be strong, but still not the strongest or capable of killing every danger or risk, including those hidden master in the world (even if we were to include his family, the powerscale seem will always scale further and further for a while just like the usual cultivator manhua), so he need to use his reputation as a shield and a way to make people trust and do his bidding until he the strongest and only then, reputation doesn't matter and he can do anything he want, including being gay🤣

No, you forgot how harsh it is in chinese society about those kind of stuff, like i said, that might work if were talking about western society, definitely not in chinese, especially one like this. It's doesn't make changge socially unreasonable, because if he did, it's would justified, atleast in their culture and norm. And as i said, even if gu changge didn't, the king or the general (his father) would outright lynch him, and he also would be socially dead.

The only reasonable to do this move as i said, is to make it sound platonic, for example "I'm not in love with someone, nor interested in anyone, but i wish to serve young master gu changge as his subordinate and servant." Then yeah, this is the smart move one, and gu changge would have no way to retort harshly and make him socially unreasonable as you said if he does.


But! the problem is the build up, it's was about marriage and the sword guy said that he had someone in his heart already, which naturally would make the outcome rather like this if we were to follow what he said in the few last panel. "The one I'm in love/attracted, is gu changge." And that is basically suicide in both socially or physically (hence, why gu changge said those few word in the last panel if the sword guy were to do that)🤣

I don't know, i don't think that a smart move either, that would make him a freak, which essentially would killed him societally, so if gu changge want to kill him, people that are there will probably think that reasonable. Even if changge didn't kill him right there, his father or the king would probably lynched him. Unless you mean confessing in a platonic way as in servant or worship, not in attracted way, which i don't think was what he mean, hence reason why changge say that in the end🤣

Yeah, on LN she have been emphasized having some depression and stuff like that, but as usual when a story adopted into other form, some content may be cut from the original.

Well, they did remove it huh, there was some uhhh, incest stuff between that brown hair and white hair elf, and yes, blood related mother and son...in the LN it has some or slight *emphasize* and melodrama about that, but they seem to just skip through the whole monologue here.

Not sure how i feel about this :/, a op character, and very young nonetheless, defeating already solid standing character just after briefly being introduced sound like a lot of BS, i wouldn't feel like this if there was some build up, like for example, some of the enemy, those demon king atleast mention that there some young prodigy or someone like that in the past chapter, but no, so far literally none mentioning this sudden edgy boy that wipe out one of the strongest character. It's like deus ex machina but in reverse, which still a BS no matter how you spin it around, lol.
