I still don't quite get how what was said back then is supposed to be consistent with what's being said now, though. I see why it's related, but that's all. It's probably not important enough to be worth discussing, but I just don't like failing to understand things.
I applaud the innovation, but the old way smacks a bit harder π
7:00:05 AM - Me remembering the one and only time Ushigome told anyone her first name
7:00:06 AM - "Wait, it's not exactly the same."
7:00:065 AM - "... It's only one letter off..."
7:00:0655 AM - "BUT this is a different timeline! She couldn't be he-"

That would be scary to any introvert even in mundane circumstances, so factor in what people are like toward him at the school (the ones who don't know him), that was REALLY ballsy.
My guess is the artist wanted them offset enough that neither was too obscured, and since the symbolism is her guiding him, they had to be pointing toward the same place and their arms had to be parallel to each other. The artist's other option would have been to make the offset more horizontal. It would've preserved their accurate height difference, but with her farther to the right, it would look a little bit more like she was hiding behind him.
It wouldn't be as good of a depiction of the moment, because the equal bravery was a manifestation of their trust. She had no force and he had no direction, so even though they're both badasses, they'd never have been able to keep their cool if they didn't trust each other. This really is a truly beautiful story. Lives up to the hype 100% Placing her higher up vertically would have disrupted what I think the artist was going for with their arms. Either they wouldn't be parallel and pointing at the same place, or his would be partially obscured.
This is a bit of a reach, but I think it also might have looked a little too romantic. The author is a woman, and they tend to have more faith in the concept of platonic love between a man and woman. Obviously that's depicted in many stories, but those are usually ones where there's one reason or another that romance would have been implausible, or narrowed the audience. Like if they're relatives or if there's an age gap.
Romance is just plain pleasant in general, so plot-wise it's a good risk/reward ratio. Normally when there's no reason NOT to include it, that's reason enough to do it. It's important to know that platonic love is still plausible in circumstances where nobody would object to romance between them, and it also wouldn't have any social consequences. There's nothing holding them back. It's just not like that π
Like on the far left end of the X-axis if it's something super petty like in this chapter, I laugh my head off. The dot on the Y-axis would be way up toward the top.
Then on the far right end of the X-axis, when what the person did was really horrible, like if they abused or tortured or r-worded someone and then the victim kills them later, it's just like "JUSTICE, DIRTBAG! SUCK IT!" My Y-axis dot is way up there too.
But if it's something around the middle of the X-axis, like... It's impossible to quantify subjective things, but you know what I mean. Whatever you think would be at that mid-point in severity, it would be less satisfying than both extremes. Y-axis dot is much lower.
You'll join!? Really really!?
Yes, really really.
"Sakura could join the party" Did you see yourself type that???
My dude, Sakura is the party.
Hahaha! You expected a highroading douchepotato trying to pass their hatred off as righteousness (fooling only themselves), but it was me! Some random perv!
Sorry about this corny shit. I am very tired atm
I generally applaud innovation in life even if it's not well executed, because it's a ballsy move, but it hits different with stories. Stories that are already loved shouldn't be messed with.
Can anyone who sees this recall a franchise where you liked it? Like significant plot changes and omissions, but it didn't bother you because both were good?
That'd be a sensible strategy imo, but if it ends up not making a difference then why bother?
CW: Fart fetish advice
You can persuade a girl to do it. If you treat someone well enough they'll wanna make you as happy as you make them. The key is tending to their insecurities. Remind them that they're almost always harmless.
If every single one smelled, any room with a lot of people in it like a classroom would stink constantly. And just because it goes on your face doesn't mean you gotta smell it. If you know it's coming you can hold your breath.
Maybe promise her you'll always hold your breath until she gets more comfortable with it? That last bit is just speculation, idk if it'd work. I actually haven't done much persuasion for that kink, but for others I have.
I've only asked two girls and one was an adamant "Hell no" and the other one loves me to so it was easy.
If Makoto hadn't put that chair there and left it, Kuzuhana wouldn't have been there at the beginning of the manga when Takae was blackmailing Saotome. She wouldn't have resolved the conflict for him. And if it had just been on the roof and not that higher up part, Kuzuhana would have been in plain sight (Takae didn't know she was there) and Takae would've just waited to get him alone somewhere else.
Saotome only went to Moteshiro because it was the one with the fashion program. If Kuzuhana hadn't saved him, he might have dropped out. Might have even gotten a criminal record or reputation as a creep. Any one if those things would've had a long term effect, especially job related, particularly to his field.
You've seen celebrities get canceled when their old accusations (whether true or not) come to light. A male womens fashion designer with a whisper of anything like that would be done-ion rings. Don't matter how long he's been slaying the runways or how hard his fits smack, he'd be fried greasy salty done-ion rings without a napkin to keep your hand clean while you eat 'em.
Of course there are other schools, and he already had access to his parents, so he might still get where he wants career-wise. But the other schools wouldn't have had fashion in the curriculum. He would've had to learn his crafting stuff only on his own time. He would have fewer official credentials for his job resume without a specialized school diploma, or whatever they call the document in Japan.
Anyone can get good enough at anything if they try hard enough, but a lot of employers count people out immediately if they don't have anything officially documented. It's tragic, really. Another school would've had other boys, which would have been better for his social skills, but he also might have gotten bullied worse. Some people are unbelievably dumb about assigning genders to hobbies and professions.
Hopefully there will be more guys at Moteshiro next year so he can get the benefit without the detriment. Granted, the other guys may be in the business or cooking classes, but they'll quickly meet enough fashion guys to learn that theyre not so different.
SOMEONE needed to get more assertive with Kariu, so it sucked when it seemed like that psycho guy was gonna be the only one who would. The shyest most awkward girl in the story just ovary'd up π
I know they're a lot more civilized than the animals I'm living around (I've had a situation escalate from eye contact to a gunshot in 30 seconds. Total stranger, completely mundane context. Wasn't a mugging, the guy just seriously got that angry that fast)
but it's wild to see someone pulling a girl around by her arm like a few chapters ago, or grabbing someone's front door and forcing it open when they're trying to close it like in this chapter and nobody else getting assertive.
Now if it was a stranger then I get it, that's more scary. Maybe not worth the risk, case by case. But when it's people you go to school with every day, and they're not even hostile in a long term way like some kind of rivalry, come tf on, say SOMETHING.
I know the story is fiction, and obviously some of the technology is impossible, but notes in the margins in earlier chapters heavily implied that this is meant to be a realistic depiction of the social/cultural structure.
I think it is meant to be relatable, and the topics include both student and employee life, so I'm sure a significant degree of realism would be necessary if that's the goal.
I'll be the first to punch a sexist in their genitals (unless there is a second human present aside from me, and the second human is closer to the sexist than me. In which case, the other human will probably punch them first) because it's the seed of EVERY societal issue and many more (Not the root. The seed.) but at least sexism is based on shit that can be observed.
Now, when people had no machines and could only speculate on what couldn't be detected directly with their own senses, that I get. Idk if I would've believed it, but I wouldn't have called it out. I'm not gonna tell someone their theory is trash when I have no other plausible explanation. If I'm right then someone more educated than me will do it eventually. I'll stfu and step aside.
But a modern day guy in a position of authority out here calling himself a king in third person but still gagging on imaginary friend cock is a disgrace. Gag on imaginary cock all ya want but ffs, they make squirting dildos now! Plus, you can sell pics/videos of it, and it won't tell you who you can bring on your boat. Win/win/win
First chapter she was in, people were like THOT alert!
How 'bout righteous, hardworking, friendship cherishing, kouhai-guiding badass bitch over there alert?? RHFCKGBBOT?
People don't like being straight-up told how to think. School is boring, pop culture is fun. Creators who embed lessons into enjoyable media for people to discover on their own are makin' the world go 'round π₯°
Winking at you, PokΓ©mon The First Movie π Thanks for the humanity starter deck π
