Well I'm not average anymore, I'm a bit bigger now but back then I was 150-160 lbs (68-72.5 kg). Got to spar with people significantly smaller and bigger, and I didn't notice any consistent correlation between size and speed.
Take that with a grain of salt though, I was only there for a year. Not really all that long compared to many, but I would estimate I had a few dozen sparring partners throughout. I think that'd be enough to notice consistency.
Idgaf about morality but I give multiple fucks about safety and that'd be like a stalker recruitment seminar 🤔 If it was just about any other type of event it wouldn't be quite so bad, the creeps would have to ask questions to gather info.
They probably wouldn't get answers, and even if they did, they'd be recognized later, so even if someone was bad, they wouldn't wanna risk looking sus, so probably wouldn't ask. So no harm done. But in this case they'd know for sure what school they go to without even asking
Idk if it's the same in Japan (I hope it's not, because some schools really suck) but where I live you can't just enroll in any public school. Your mailing address determines which one you have to go to. The school districts are public info, so if someone knows your school they know your district, and your name will be in the yearbooks.
Even if whoever's calling the shots for these events is a bad person, they have a personal stake in it. Anything bad that happens to the students from their decisions will affect their reputation, so yeah even without compassion as a factor, this would be an awful decision.
So I'm glad there's not truth to it. We've always got the "stop committing sex crimes" option, which would be ideal for the dirty mind / clean hands pervs like myself since all the hot people wouldn't be so afraid to be hot.
But noooo, of course some assholes have always gotta be ruining good stuff by doing shit nobody else would do. The show's not wrong, it's the crimes that are wrong, but effectively that's not much of a difference, and it should be.
I just hope the people who get mad about events like this don't forget who the real enemies are. People wouldn't have to be so careful if nobody was committing the crimes.
When you said "very nearly", did you mean very early? I see the N and E are not close to each other on a qwerty keyboard so I was gonna rule out an error but there's other ways to type.
That would make sense since if he died early it'd mean more reincarnated people would have time to pass through. But also if you really did mean nearly, that'd make sense to me too. I don't see why his body would still be usable if he had died, because if his body's alive, why did his soul leave?
Maybe some extreme effect of this crazy training was effectively the same as death because it forced the soul to pass on, but the body was too sturdy to die even without a soul, so whichever soul got to it once it was empty could just stay. A body that's more hardy than any soul would be a neat plot thingy.
How many sit-ups before a fatality displaces my soul instead of destroys my body? 🤣
I'm not completely sure reincarnation is the right word for what's happened in this story, since I'm not sure the MC or Tesslon actually died in that first fight. I don't think they did. I think reincarnation has to involve death, and this looks more like just a time leap coinciding with a body swap.
Because I'm a half-assed author, a half-assed activist, a half-assed lucid dreamer, and a half-assed gish-playing dnd min/maxing geek. So if this story is even 5% as good as it sounds like it's gonna be, I'm gonna find a way to plagiarize it with IRL retcon. Skiddaddle skidoodle, your story's in my noodle 🤣
BT-dubs, the guy on the cover looks like the high school version of me made ten clones of himself and ate them all, so there's a the second clue. Now I just run the author's pen name through an anagram generator to look for any alias matches and I'll know if it's Asian me 😅
Do the Japanese really use honorifics even in their inner monologues? 🤔
Idk how it's possible I wouldn't have noticed that before now if it was normal. I'm not sure why it seems weird to me, because when I'm thinking, I call everyone the same thing I do when I speak, but it does.
It's a little tough to relate to because there's no exact equivalent in the US. The closest thing I can think of would be titles like Mr or Mrs, and I include those when I think
It takes some time to eat, so once it's crowded, between that and standing in line, everyone who visits will probably be close enough to see it for awhile. Unpaid all day, I'd be willing to do that once every half hour at most.
And I don't mean I'm sure I'd last all day. Only that I'd commit to it.
If anyone orders the yappucinno 👇
The sooner people toss out that fairy tale bedtime story BS, the better their relationships are gonna be.
Your girlfriend is just as thirsty as you m8. She's looking around and thinking just as much. Everyone is. The only variable is the degree of honesty, because people say it's wrong but it's not.
Monogamy is bae imo. It's the only way for me. But that's not how humans were meant to live. Our brains are hardwired to do that same stupid alpha/beta shit that other animals do. It's only safe to go against your instincts if you understand what it's gonna entail. Monogamy is safe as long as you don't expect your monkey brain to stfu. It's not gonna.
Just because you want something doesn't mean you're gonna act on it. You're in a very scary world, so you can't afford to be afraid of your own thoughts too. Your mind needs to be your sanctuary. There's nowhere to fall back to if it gets overrun.
And I bet you're telling her she's the most beautiful person you've ever seen when she's not even in the top hundred. And I bet you don't like how it feels when you say it, and that you'd rather not, but she makes you feel like you have to. I bet you're not a liar in general, but insecure girls have conditioned you into doing it.
These society-wide charades are a lot more harmful than most people realize. It's scary how comfortable people can become with dishonesty even though all of them know all of them are doing it at the same time.
This is why so many couples fall apart. You're not gonna be able to trust someone during majorly serious problems if you know they're lying to your face about basic stuff every day like it's nothing.
I'm not flexing my healthy marriage, I'm trying to help others. Reputation is not a thing rn. Respect from randos I'm never gonna see again won't benefit me later. Bragging would be pointless 🙂

How you gonna spoil another ongoing manga in your scanlation just for a laugh?? 😭
The scanlation of that chapter only came out a few days ago 😭
You even said which chapter 😤
I happened to have seen it on time, and someone in that chapter's comment section spoiled 2 other mangas I'm planning to read 😔 I can only ever get so mad at a comment, since there's always a chance it's a little kid, but to see a scanlator do it... Y'all know better 🥺
Not everyone is reading everything they're planning to read at the exact same time as you 😔
There's probably a proper term for it. I once found some cool website with "trope" in its name that showed me like EVERY LITTLE THING that happens in lots of stories has a proper term. Like stuff that would take me a paragraph to describe, there's a way to say it in one or two words.
I guess apparently that's all basic knowledge between people who write stories for any type of media, but having not known practically any of it until I found the freaking encyclopedia of it as an adult, it was fascinating to me. Read it for hours.
People really overthink it sometimes too, especially in situations where someone's interested in dating someone but they're not a couple. Like they'll hear someone use -chan or -kun with their crush and be like oh noooo!!!
I like most stuff I've learned about Japan but it seems like it makes more sense for everyone to call me the same name. I think even the "Mr./Mrs. (Last name)" thing in the US is kinda silly except when it helps with organization.
Like if it's a corporate or military setting there's so many people that there's probably many people with the same first name, and there's also a chain of command. But if someone is just my friend or girlfriend's parent and they don't have the same first name then it doesn't really make sense.
It just seems to imply there's some kinda hierarchy. That's only a thing in business and military. There's no social hierarchy.
How does that call get made???
Idk much about scanlation. There were six usernames mentioned. Does that mean six people collaborated on this, but none of them read it when they were done?
I'm never gonna complain about a free service, scanlation teams do God's work. I just don't like being ignorant and wanna understand. It seems like proofreading would be the most crucial step of the process, and the easiest step.
Translating seems like it'd be a lot more work than just reading the finished product to see if there's any spelling or grammatical errors. So skipping proofreading after all that seems like it undermines a lot of effort. Like cooking beef stew but then not putting it in the refrigerator.
I'm happy too, but I was thinking maybe pizza or hibachi or something. Not spoilers for 3 other mangas... 😔
These slice of life stories are nice in a way since you don't have to see REALLY bad stuff happen to the characters you like, like people don't often get beaten up or cheated on or have their parents get divorced, stuff like that.
But since the spectrum of triumph/tragedy is so much more narrow than in more serious stories, they also sometimes make basic pleasant stuff seem impossible. I was sure something would go wrong.
Kissing someone on purpose without anything bad happening shouldn't feel like this big of a deal to someone like me, who's old af and married, but I'm giggling and kicking my feet over here. Slice of life characters just never get to do this. Like never.
That would've been very altruistic if it was what really happened. She could've just smiled and been like "Hehe, ya caught me!". He would've believed her. Zero chance of consequences, and his favor is highly valuable to her, but she still didnt do it.
That's a BRIGHT green flag that everyone should be on the lookout for. It's off the gamut. If you print it out you'll be disappointed. Ink don't get that bright 🤌
Crazy-ass insecure girls being like "I'm so bulky and muscular 😭"
While us intellectuals are like "Please crush me, Amazon queen 🤤 If I can still remember the word 'oxygen', you got up too soon"
Don't get me wrong. I like me some pixie girls too. Would never pass on someone like Ayano. Dommes don't need to be strong or heavy since there's always bondage, but getting overpowered by a girl would be sublime 🥰
I wanna get to the bottom of why Japan's violent crime rate is so low. I'm in the US and I don't like how much violence happens here, but it matters what the difference is.
I was under the impression it was because they're more civilized there, like as in people aren't gonna be running their mouths so much. People think hitting someone is what starts a fight, but no. Provoking people is what starts a fight.
People talking so much shit it's like they think they're indestructible, THAT is what causes violence. The people who remind them they're made of flesh and blood like everyone else are not the problem. The fact that they need the reminder is the problem.
So are they really gonna treat me better, or will they just be more surprised when I hit them?? Because the point is I don't wanna hit anyone but I'm not gonna be treated like that no matter where I live. If they're gonna be just as big of assholes as Americans it's gonna go the same way.
