Well, they’re dead now, and the kid had nothing to do with it. He’s allowed his revenge to twist him into going too far. This is his sister’s kid, too. If he cared about her, he should care about her kid and making sure he grows up someone she’d be proud of, but instead he’s become the same kind of trash as the old count and just views the kid as something to beat on.

“Alright, pop quiz. Airport, gunman with a hostage. He's using her for cover. He's almost to a plane. You're one hundred feet away.”

“Shoot the hostage.”

“What?!”

“Take her out of the equation. Go for the good wound and he can't get to the plane with her. Clear shot.”

Side character? She’s the only real hero in this entire story. MC is an antihero on a deicidal vengeance quest, fmc is a doormat that just does what others tell her to do, and the other “heroes” summoned by the goddess are either trash going mad on a power trip, or are background characters paralyzed by their own cowardice.

Oren is no Oren-Ishii of Mercantilism, this is for sure. 🤣
