I think Orthodox in this world just means that they are an accepted part of the martial community, not that their particular behavior meets any particular standard. They’re no longer hated outcast renegades with KOS orders hanging over their heads.

At no point did this say they were stronger than him though, just that when Sword Mama showed up to save Sword Baby, he was suddenly facing a stronger force than he’d expected, so he hadn’t corrected his own force for it. The fact that in the very next scene, Sword Mama is bowing and kneeling suggests that—in agreement with the fact that he barely had a split lip—“stronger than expected” is very much not “stronger than him.” Hopefully there’s someone, because no challenge would be boring; that’s why he sat in a solitary pout for 2000 years in the first place, not being able to find a good fight.

It’s the Chozo gene grafts interacting with the Emperor’s gene-seed. Because she’s clearly played a wild game of random mix and match with whatever martial arts she came across, like a toddler fingerpainting with all the different colors off the shelf instead of understanding them and then mastering a few to the absolute limit, so why not some extra boosts? 🤣

A’aight, it’s only the first chapter and I already love that their spaceship is literally just truck-kun, about to literally isekai a thousands of years old martial master into the galactic murim scene. They’re seriously unserious about their comedy in this house!
