2. How well slaves have been treated has varied wildly from place to place, from individual to individual, I would say typically not treated well. Based on what we have seen in this story, these elf slaves have been treated badly with being drugged and forced to wear shitting clothing at the very least.

2b. But how well slaves are treated is immaterial overall to the point that slavery is a evil practice. Arguing slavery is OK if the average slaver treats their victims well is like saying rape is OK if the average rapist is gentle or serial killing is OK if the average serial killer murders painlessly.

Yes, fishing means hunting fish. But MC had like 20 years to try and figure out a method to go after fish like with the tyradactals. I don't even recall MC trying to catch aquarius animals in any way

I mean they have human minds as well. Even if you had never heard of fishing, you'd think of looking to the water for food. MC was able to figure out fishing for paradactals after all. Not much of a leap to think of hunting in water in some way.
