I'm not sure that demons have a natural life span, Since they are considered beings anathema to the divine we should probably not try to put normal expectations on them. It also common in fiction that demons never forget a grudge and will enact vengeance upon an entire lineage for generations.

More importantly the demon king was originally an undead that served Diablo. Once he found a way to generate more black mana I don't think he has a set lifespan since he's already dead.

I don't think they were every portrayed as peaceful. But I don't consider them gangsters. They seem to be a warrior people that were forced to flee their home. And they violently carved out a place to live here.

The Jinsu-Ya have already shown that they are brutal when they feel they need to be. The only manipulation I can see here is whatever caused the Jinsu-Ya to flee to this city. They never wanted to be there.
