What makes me doubt it is that the emperor didn't notice anything, only that she is a mage.

I read these scenes in the light novel a few years ago, and I don't remember if she had line of sight on the prince. I don't think she had anyone projecting the target to her or Raphael would have told Rimuru about it. A limited clairvoyance skill would justify her needing to be outside, and as for her aiming for the prince that would be habit. Even if she doesn't need to aim at him at all if she had training in fire arms she would take aim without even thinking.

Mu Ae was taken a little more than 10 years before Dan Sa Yu traveled to the mainland. Looking back at the beginning it looks like it was 11-12 years tops. Time passes as Sa Yu is trained and his master kills the followers of the three hermits, but the only stated passage of time given is six months and that is after most of the three hermits followers have died.. Also, the big bad from Yuan mentions her (not by name) that she needs to open her heart to the "young master". That might be referencing her son, but he is going to be really young. With the current pace of the story he shouldn't be more than 13, maybe 14, when we finally see him. Unless the author says later that more time passed between Mu Ae getting kidnapped and the final battle with the hermits the kid seems too young to play a major opponent to Sa Yu. But I admit that it seems more unlikely that Mu Ae somehow avoided marriage for 10 years, it's not impossible just more difficult to justify.
