as far as i can remember the daos arent restricted to the inner universe so them still having and yk being able to use beasts great daos isn't relative to the inner universes, and as far as their consciousness entering their own/YKs inner universe I think they can because I remember a couple things were shown within YKs universe like the other human bodies bloodline

I don't think it was meant to be emotional at all for the readers as shes a character we very recently met and turned out she was against MC the whole time, now if it was a character like murakan or luna (hopefully never but yk its probably gonna happen very later on) then there would be a more thought out build up

they merged to yk so they no longer have a physical body just a consciousness, the inner universe is something that happens once the body develops the dao seal or whatever it was called to promote to open heaven.

that's for failure, in this case xiang shan decided to stop midway through his breakthrough and fight instead so that's why there's no effect (I assume thats why, we haven't seen a voluntary stop so far I don't think)

im not a LN reader so idk but as far as i can guess we still have a ways to go, YK has to wake back up, then find out how to reach creation realm, and then actually cultivate to creation realm AND THEN fight ink. Honestly, i think we still have a year's worth of chapters left with the way they can draw out fights and other BS

I think he's a psuedo 9th rank right now and can only compete as a 9th rank when he's in his divine dragon body, that makes the most sense considering the clones are still fully alive rather than having been merged with YK. at least for now
