This comment got me curious and I started this series because of it, but I'm at chapter 25 right now and she still doesn't have any power. This series has me hooked but I'm not really enjoying the dark themes. While the main character is suffering day by day the other person who came into that world with her is living on easy mode.

Edit: Chapter 27 explains that she knew about this power all along and she CHOSE to live in this shitty situation. I'm flabbergasted.

While I get where you are coming from, the prices Han Jue pays are very steep the stronger the person he wants to curse is. It's been years since I've the read the novel but it was always a hilarious time when he started cursing. He would bleed through all seven orifices, get large chunks of lifespan sucked out, and generally have a miserable time lol. Han Jue would curse for years/decades/hundreds of years/a VERY long time at a time too.
