It can stop movements, but it was said before that the effect diminishes over great distance and in another battle it could be seen that more powerful enemies were also less affected.

Two big revelations this chapter:
1. The Black Flame Blade is the culprit.
2. The Black Flame Blade is a man.

Yeah, that's what I meant with "his challenge". "Travel back in time and greet her warmly at her birth". He's going to make her cry until she turns into a baby and then he's going to be the nicest guy ever to her. He's going to be the "kind uncle" Kang Jinhyuk.

She's looking a lot younger. Is that how his challenge works? She gets younger every time she cries her black tears until she becomes an infant?

Maybe it's one of his barrier skills. Their versatility seems to be the real cheat skill here.

I think all those disastrous outcomes have just soured her view of romance.

Things worked out fine in her first party until that mage showed up. Maybe she did try a few more times after that, but independent of her actions, her other party members would always fuck it all up.

Yes, but in chapter 1 one of the videos reporting on the tower explicitly mentioned that it was based on a game. There was also the Samurai Guild (I think that was their name) who bragged that they had a veteran of the game in their ranks. News like that should spread like a wild fire until everyone on Earth knew about it and who the veterans were who streamed their content, like Kang Jin-Hyuk did.

It feels like a lot of the characters in the manga have forgotten that Tower of Trials was a game before it became real and that there were people who played it. These three didn't beat the disciples just by "thinking outside the box", they knew from the start how to beat them, because they've done it before.

Yeah, it makes sense that that's how you beat her, but HOLY SHIT!

Where was it stated to be the first boss? I know the designers fought about the order of things, but they didn't mention what the intended order was.

Yeonhwa and the boy sitting next to her (Lee Taemin) were companions of the MC back when the Tower was just a game. They were introduced in chapter 15. They're hardened veterans, just like him and the stalker. The old man is Yeonhwa's grandfather, introduced in chapter 47.

These things tend to fly under my radar. I really didn't expect such a short and, as far as I'm aware, largely unknown manga to get an anime.

That they're all psycho killers is an exaggeration anyway. It's "just" a fifth.

One of them had a god complex and convinced 18 of the others to help him in an evil plan and betray the others. The 20th psycho is the one we're witnessing right now.

Most of the others had a bit of main character syndrome and tried to play hero, which led to them killing a lot of terrorists, but that's hardly what I'd consider psycho behaviour.

I just realized that I got this manga mixed up with another one I'm reading. They're both set in a magical world, funny AF and both get updated once in a blue moon. It's the other one that plays around a lot with betraying expectations and first impressions.

No, it's possible if you consider that the world works like a game for him.

In the real world the people would have to wait for him to wake up, but in the framework of the game the time would just be skipped. So for him the time is also skipped when he does it in this world.
