    It was mentioned in one of the previous scenario.
    I think it was during "Capture the Flag" scenario when the MC impersonates Yoo Joongyuk to meet the prophets. The prophets don't actually believe the MC saying that Yoo Joonghyuk was described as handsome whereas the MC is not good looking. So if I remember correctly it was during that time we got a hint that something had been done to MC 's face.
    Don't remember the chapter no. but it was probably after ch 40.

      Man, I don't remember that hint, but I remember such scenario. Characters didn't believe him much because unlike what was writing in the novel, mc here was ugly and they thought then it was some deviations of aesthetics of the author (don't remember this exactly.)

      Actually I didn't know the hint or knew the spoiler but I was expecting that ability.
      Since he can even into other people body when he becomes ghost.
      And that's part of his skill so it might be possible for him to use or select characters like we did in game and change appearances

So, when it said that sun wukong(aka prisoner of the golden headband for those that don't know) was pissed off by seeing the hand I thought, "shit their sponsor is Buddha." Buddha is extremely powerful which would make his incarnate powerful, the palm of Buddha is kinda well known and is what beat Sun Wukong in his bet with Buddha, and then they later revealed his name is fking Nirvana?! Yea, I have no doubts now. Plus they're a reincarnator!

  So basically the bet was for Sun Wukong to get out of Buudha's reach, so he jumped to the end of the universe and took a piss there, then jumped back. He said there's no way Buddha could've reached there, then Buddha opened his palm to show the piss of Wukong showing that the entire universe is in Buddha's palm. Something like that, just a summary from what I can immediately remember.

      Ok so basically sun wukong and Buddha had a bet, if sun wukong could leave Buddha behind then he'll win. Sun wukong is super strong so with a jump he reached the end of the universe, he left a mark at the end of the universe. And when he came back to show Buddha how far away he went, Buddha opened his palm and showed the mark left by sun wukong, this not only shows how wukong lost but of how strong Buddha is, since Buddha's palm is as big as the ever expanding universe

None of what you're stating here is a valid sale. And the reason for that is one of the issues you state: "... in Light's heart for their heinous act back in Chapter 1 (Chapter 0 for both WN and LN) has shattered a 2-year long friendship he once cherished."

Take a step from the story and look at the meta. How does the READER understand the weight of two years without proper context clues? With very, VERY few flashbacks aimed toward the villains? Answer is, they don't. It's not covered (as of this chapter). So for all the reader knows, Light's making his way across the country on a homicidal streak against a party that tricked him in one labyrinth.

Yes, there ARE flashbacks, but they're usually filling in "How the villain got here" (which is background-detailing info almost completely irrelevant to Light's quest), or it's Light power-leveling in the Last Dungeon. Take those away, we're left to assume a complex relationship based on what the author TOLD us, but never SHOWED us.

Therefore, these actions after capturing feel hollow. We aren't shown the torture of his former comrades, we're told they're very painful and miserable. That isn't good enough for the shallow establishment of the primary plot. What we've been shown instead, in static repetition, is Light being underestimated, Light cock-slapping his opponents with this Lv 9999 skills, then Light hauling them off for some off-screen torture.

In short, it's a shounen OP adventure masquarading as a revenge story.

Marian no Danzan, Redo of Healer, The Hero Who Seeks Revenge Shall Exterminate With Darkness—in these revenge stories, the crimes are displayed, often in bullish & gory detail. The revenge isn't hidden away or neatly-filed, but brutal, well-earned, paced, and are typically karmic in view of the very crimes committed. Here, Light cockslaps the opponent in a manner appropriate to a shounen title and then files them away for maybe (hopefully) some later actual karmic punishment. It doesn't measure. As just stated, it's easier to take the story in as an OP main character in a shounen adventure book than as a revenge tale.

tl;dr Because the author's more interested in TELLING over SHOWING, the actual plot hook (the revenge) is just vanilla cringe.
