Honestly, I kind of get his first life just switching sides and killing them all.
Dude was a spoiled brat growing up, but he was also raised without a mother and treated horribly by EVERYONE of similar or higher status, ESPECIALLY by his family(who care about him but range from psychotic, to psychotic and sadistic) and his father was just garbage.
Not saying he can't do better with the powers of hindsight, but I can't blame him becoming desensitized and cruel, given what we know now.

  For what we know its not until his older sister died (The one beating the crap out of him now) that he realized that his family was just akward showing affection, at least the father and sister. If this is the average murim setting, the father of a famous clan cant go arround showing how mutch he loves his sons or they are easy target to any enemies and if he was garbage at martial arts it was better to just cut ties with him so he didn't have a giant target on his back but at least he was alive.
  But yes, in his past life as you said he was basically "Generic villain 2 with generic villain backstore 2 of everyone has talent but me and my family prefers my other sibilings so i now i am evil because easy power"

    No way in hell constant violent abuse is showing affection, no matter how you put it. It's just straight up bullying, if not worse. Or you think that "I love my son/brother, so why don't I just beat him up?" is in any way normal? No, it's just plain stupid.
    Also, clan leader CAN and SHOULD show affection to his child, at least a little bit of it. Especially after the whole story with his mother. Because if not, then what's the point of being a clan head if you can't do whatever you want, at least behind closed doors?
    Or what, it'd be considered as a weakness by his enemies? Then why praising his sisters as geniuses instead of equally ignoring them?
    Let's be honest, this whole "awkward affection" is just a Jupiter-sized plot hole.

i can't wait what kind of bullshit the author going to pull to beat gitae kim. Probably gonna make his favorite character (Gun) break out of prison and use super ultra mega monster combo instinct to beat him with broken hand with bullshit reasoning like "you don't know the secret of bruteness yet" or even better he is going make his second favorite character (Johan) return to the story and use heavenly copy legendary starter technique and summon and "arise" gapryong kim from the dead using awakened copy to fight gitae kim. Honestly i'm not surprised with how shit and repetitive the story have gotten.
