Well, bcs this manga is an adaptation of the ln & anime also is a ln adaptation. The main purpose of making manga adaptation is bcs someone can't get his hand on ln, prefer more visual than word & lastly to promote ln. Some anime adaption is also made for the sole purpose of advertising ln, which is why those anime will never have s2.
don't forget that even the manga is an adaption of the novel, which has already volume 5 translated in english released, with volume 6 releasing in december. going by the novel, we're currently in volume 3, so they might have decided that the adaption into a manga series with a success and with the author still releasing good volumes of the novel, they could go ahead with an anime adaption.
