If you mean a bug in a literal sense I would be more jarred than anything. But if my significant other becomes a bug and looks anything similar to some of the characters we've seen, I promise at least me personally (since I can only really speak for myself) I would not have an issue with their appearance at least. And a mantis is kinda specific I would take the lethality of the bug they got fused with into account. (I've take too many biology and entomology classes unfortunately). I don't think they were actually dating though. That's what's making this attachment a little bit wild to me. The comrades that he has made at nest have gone through numerous life and death experiences with him. At least if I'm in that position, I would feel terrible betraying that type of loyalty for someone that has been ambiguous with me. I can completely understand wanting to save them from the perspective of "this is my responsibility", but I'm not going to be emotionally distraught over my relationship with them a year after the fact. (Sorry if this comment sounds abrasive I appreciate your perspective. It makes me think more about the plot.)

I think what's bothering me more right now is more so that all of us are collectively looking at this behavior and going "yeah this is a little odd". It's definitely easier to say when you aren't the one presently experiencing it but I think a lot of us wouldn't have let it get this far. It's just a little bit annoying to look at when the people that have risked their lives for him Time after Time, kind of getting sidelined for someone who rejected him initially in the series. 🥲💔

I think this is the biggest thing bothering me about his behavior. It would be one thing if they had a legitimate argument that was hard to counter, but this is surface level thought provocation. You all are obviously victims of a really shitty situation regardless of what actions you have already executed up to this point. (I can't even really shame the people that were killing to survive because they wouldn't even be alive to be critiqued if they didn't do what they did). He had no point stop to say "this logic is kind of stupid" and is having huge emotional turmoil over it. It's beyond frustrating as a reader because all of us have at least a little bit more reasoning ability then that. 😭

Genuinely found myself frustrated these past few chapters. I know many of us think this way but I would have handled that differently given the same abilities. 😭 D1 problems need a D1 solution.

Suchan having this weak of a mindset this far in is kind of annoying me though because Huijin low-key carried. He would've long been dead if not for her picking up his slack. Suchan doesn't need to abandon her cause she's still a victim of breeder, but he does need to move on from her.

Breeders philosophy does not work here "if you were human". I've come to notice it in a lot of works I've been reading recently but some of these series have a really shallow definition of "human". I think most humans in this situation would see that there is a D1 problem in front of them and try to address it accordingly. Suchan was annoying me for holding back while huijin has no head, but I'm not going to call him a monster for killing someone who's actively murdering people. It's very unfortunate for mihee cause she does get the short end but like, people are dying right now because of you and breeder. 😭

The power scaling is honestly pretty consistent imo. I think you overestimated Pietro. He is definitely legendary rank but that is because of his success rate and his ability to think forward. In terms of physical stats, they have showed us consistently the Pietro has never been at the top in that regard. Even from the Nathaniel flight, yet he still won. Being the best assassin doesn't mean you are the strongest assassin, you're just most likely to kill your target. If we break this scene down I can see why Pietro is losing. Bear in mind all of these people are still human regardless of what enhancements they have. Not only is his friend bleeding out in a very time-sensitive scenario but both his comrades and himself were injured in previous fights and their current objective isn't to keep on brawling but to escape so nobody is fighting with the intention of winning at this moment. I actually like that the disciples are as strong as they are. They made it apparent that the past generation of disciples don't really compare to the current generation in terms of power stats. Kageo and yuika beat Simon, alipede defeated johann. If Pietro just dog walked all of his enemies I would still be intrigued but not as much as when I know that there are stakes involved. (Just to add some yap to the conversation). So I would still call Pietro the best assassin all around but certain people beat him in very specific stats. As much as that would be cool for someone as wicked as him, if your still expecting Airen to do that then you've misunderstood his personality a little bit. He's definitely ruthless to demons, but he still has trouble cutting down evil humans. That mage guy would've been the best dude to pop off on since he went after his dad, but airen still more or less let him go. He's strong for surely but I wouldn't say ruthless.

Just caught back up again. I think it's safe to say that none of us were expecting that. The amount of loss that just happened was beyond insane. I like that the author is starting to really add plausibility as to why so much hatred and anger exist in this world. The way these past chapters felt gave me a small glimpse into the everyday feelings of the citizens that live here. I love Hon conceptually but there is no way you can wipe out children and not question your morality. I'm glad that I'm starting to see cracks and everyone's beliefs across the board as they are forced to come to terms with the fact that their view might not be the correct one. Definitely shot up in my list despite already being pretty high. I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of this story. World building, Characters, Dialogue, Abilities, Etc. For anyone who hasn't seen my other comment: The other stories that I know correlate are lookism and viral hit. If you want direct correlation I would recommend lookism. If you just want to read another story in the lookism verse with its own separate plot then I would recommend viral hit. If you want the same feel as quest supremacy (questism) but not in the lookism universe then I would recommend reality quest.
