I mean, I would argue that the plot armor was pretty well done: all the relevant characters were used in the climax of the story to the best of the author's ability, we got Bell back and she's got some cool scars(unironically I'd say she looks sexier now), and the MC and 7th captain understand that they didn't carry and need to get stronger than before.
