Okay, but with what? If he's going to desert he can't exactly just take a suit of armor out of the base without someone noticing. Like to even have a chance at surviving, both the armor and the battleaxe are required, and neither of those are exactly small or concealeable.

Now, "practice fighting that lone Mimic". How much is this going to help him exactly? Because as you can see during the actual battle, they come in swarm and rarely if ever there is one that is by itself. He could practice and get good at a 1v1 situation but all that goes out the window against a swarm.

Nah, there is artistic liberty and then there is whatever the hell that acid trip of a trailer is. If "unique and fantastic" by your definition is just throwing a bunch of color onto the screen with no coherence then sure, more power to you and I hope you enjoy the anime once it comes out, but to me the art style in the trailer looks fucking ass.
