People are glazing this manga way too much. I'm about 3 volumes in and it's mostly just pretty solid. It's a modern fantasy setting like ones you've seen before, but with witches as the main thing. The arcs are often nothing fresh if you've seen enough detective shows, noir films or just watched/read Batman before. At least in terms of concept. General murder mysteries. Thus far it's been used to expand the world more, but the characters are charming yet nothing to write home about. They have defined personalities and are charming to watch, which is about it. Main outstanding element is the action and art, which is almost Berserk tier. Absolutely brilliant work on a technical level. It uses its standard settings and familiar concepts pretty well to create an engaging setting. It's not super fresh like Made in Abyss or something. It's just very good at expanding in ideas we already know of in ways that work really well. If I'm being generous it's an 8/10, but I'm sitting at 7.5/10. Characters are rather generic and the detective mysteries aren't really too unique or fun to unravel. Plot, art, action, comedy and world building are sweet though. So it's still something I can recommend.

Twin tails can be a bitch that gets out of line, but she's at least good at handling people and gives genuinely solid assistance in handling buisness relationships and customers. Long hair, the likely main heroine sadly, just has no redeeming qualities. Argues all time, is unreasonable, bipolar with her mood from compliments, petty and just plain trash. So she's definitely going to be the final heroine. Consistent with shit tier tsunderes and main heroines from the 2000s harem and rom-coms. Blondie isn't exactly disrespectful nor respectful. She's just there, but she's hot I guess. Otherwise the rest of have no issues. I like most of the heroines to an extent, but they can still do better.

I have the sad suspicion that either her, the black haired girl or the long haired one will be end game. We'll see.

The way dudes folded after ONE chapter of playful teasing. Y'all some bottom bitches fr. Anyways, yeah she's cute, but this far Shiragiku still clears for me. Gotta wait out to see how they all develop first before calling em' good or trash. Akane is still a loafer. She's just sexy and little playful now. Personally I need more substance and growth than that before being sold. It takes more than tits and giggles for me.

This guy is actually super great as an MC. He acts like a guy that's at least talked to a woman once in his existence outside their Mom unlike a lot of harem/ecchi/romcom MCs. A proper adult man. One that doesn't get flustered easily, strong willed and calls out bull when he sees it. I like him. He does let a few things slide that I feel like he shouldn't, but in a manga back and forth between characters is needed. So I understand.

The duo from Funny Games is this concept done perfectly. They literally always change their names, backstory and motiv constantly to hammer home the idea that they kill with no real proper goal, intent, history or ambition. It's just a game to them. Without stating it they clarify that they just kill for the sake of killing. It doesn't matter why they do what they do, because it's all just a funny game in the end.
I feel like the writer tried hammering in the same concept here, but by verbally stating that he's motivated to kill, because he wants to kill without a motive it just makes him look stupid and pretentious. He could've just said nothing, said he doesn't really know why either or that just to do it. Simple as.

Culling the weeds of temptations and cheap shortcuts from out hearts and from our lives is the burden we all have to carry as human beings. Humans, if anything, have always had choice. It's an act of mutual degradation. The evils of this world will always be evil. We have the opportunity to be better and do better. The capacity for it is evident. In many ways it's worse, because we had the potential. We could have been good unlike the worst of the world. Yet chose not to still. It's dropping to their level. The road to those damnations is paved in your own foot steps no matter what anyone tells you.

I mean...normal is something that depends on the individual no? I feel like most readers seeing this are old enough to know how they would and should react in accordance to their own world views and personality. We're not kids and the author isn't a teacher that has to make works that serve as an example for us to follow or relate to. A story is just a story at the end of the day. You take from it what you choose and it ain't really the author's responsibility what that is. That's on us.

You kinda went off a lot there. While I do agree there is a vast amount of over similarity with the MCs. In this regard at least you'd be surprised how often people do end up meeting up with exes and then not getting that hostile due to old feelings. At least that happens with women a lot lol

Only like 2 dudes talked about NTR. It ain't happening, but the manga keeps teasing it. I don't know why.

This was a nice chapter. For me, even though I continue to live I always wish that I was never born to begin with. I'm too scared to kill myself, so I stopped wishing to die. Even when I achieve happy things and overcome my trials the pain I experienced and the innocence lost is not something that I thought was worth losing to reach this happiness. So I can't relate to the friends and people I tell to keep living and not die, since good times will come back. In my eyes, living has never been worth enduring the suffering.
