Yeah the Dabi stuff ranges as far as how much mileage you can get out of it, but the basic structure of the character arcs being an abusive success obsessed father who's always second place inflicting his curse upon his family to varying degrees of success and misery isn't uninteresting it's just that most of the time when they chose to focus on it later in the series it always felt awkward and a little out of place compared to the rest of the stories in the series.

Weirdly enough I'm honestly only this harsh because I've seen this specific Arc essentially play out at the end of blood lad in a much more focused manner, you could argue jiu jitsu kaisen's current ark is kind of this but they focus that by having the little fights before the big fight instead of at the same time and then when the big bad versus big good fight happens they stay there until it's concluded to keep the tension high. What usually causes a sloppy final arc like this is setting up a giant cast but not wanting any meaningful characters to die or even be removed from the battlefield indefinitely.It leads to a bunch of incredibly cluttered fights, or constantly introducing more stuff to keep raising the stakes to the point that the conclusion can't be satisfying because it doesn't really have a setup anymore ( looking at you Naruto, with your mother of all chakra reveal that feels like it only happened to set up boruto and because you made madara too strong)

( As an aside I'm not sure about everyone else but I just don't like ochako because I find her mad boring, she feels like a less interesting Sakura and as a result of that boringness anytime the plot focused on her I felt like it was at the expense of more interesting characters, that and her arc with toga felt forced and unnatural like honestly just swapping her out for tsuyu would make it slightly better because at least tsuyu had like direct antagonistic interactions with toga previously and spoke on feeling isolated from others because of how her quirk effects her physically and mentally, like it still wouldn't be much but it would be more than nothing which is what ochako has.)

You know what, I've given this series Alot of shit for it's bad writing these past hundred or so chapters (somewhat deservedly) but all things considered the todoroki family has pretty solid writing and development in regards to its depiction of abuse, family pressure, acknowledgement of wrongdoing and healing( just wish some of that good writing could slide shigaraki and deku's way BUT it's whatever at this point) credit where credit is due I actually fully enjoyed a MHA chapter for the first time in a long time.

This has a very specifically strange vibe like it feels like one of those webtoons and manga that came out when the isekai trend first started, where the premise seems kind of generic but they go out of their way to have an actual character instead of pure wish fulfillment and where it goes for edgy but it's not just edgy with an art style that is slightly abrasive but not bad as opposed to a bland but agreeable art style you might see for more modern stuff

It's like the author made two halves one is borderline vampires and the other is basically werewolves, and the author doesn't give a s*** even a little bit about the werewolves, to the point that it's making the werewolves look much weaker.

No but this chapter he mentioned how this would be easier if he could use his shape-shifting powers but he couldn't because of where he was. Don't get me wrong he might be a partial transformations but he never said he didn't have any.
