If he dedicated his entire life to it. Like every moment spent training to be as good as humanly possible, then yes I expect he could get close to it (unless he had some serious health defect or something). Messi is not who he is solely out of talent, He trained incredibly hard to be who he is, and if Messi had completely slacked off and someone else put in significantly more effort into training then they would simply be better. Talent only comes into play when the same amount of effort is being put in. It is a better starting point, that's all it is. You may grasp concepts much faster, but without practice then they will stay at a base level. You can't tell me if someone had 1000 years of training they couldn't come close to Messi just because he is "Talented". A good example is chess, people at the highest level are fairly comparable to one another, however Magnus Carlsen stands above them all, he is simply talented. However others who put in just as much time and effort as him can still beat him, he'll just win more than he loses.

As hype as this was. I can't stand the trope that an unimaginable amount of effort means almost nothing in the face of "talent", its just so stupid. It makes so little sense and I hate it every single time I see it. It comes across as just an attempt to shock the viewers with how determined and obsessed the character is that they'd train for 1000s of years just for a little gain in skill, but it just gets so out of touch with believability that I can never find myself enjoying it.

Probably if he was being rational, but that's the woman who single handedly has the power and will to kill everyone who is important to him in his new life. She was the one who sent him to commit atrocities so he knows that its her goal. He had just heard that the strong dude had left the fight to go take her away and he'd likely never get the option again. He was being stupid though, he didn't even know what her strength was at this point and that he likely couldn't win against the dude, but he was just acting out of fear and necessity.

In his head there is zero stopping her once she gains her strength back. He needs to act then and there in order to stop that.

Definitely the best looking woman by far in the story, at this point at least
