I find that often those getting upset about him not acting violently are the same who are so childish. Funny how both extremes show a lack of maturity...

I know it's not literal but imma act like it is cuz it's funny that way. There is only one time in recorded history that it's even possible that everyone alive at the time heard the same sound from the same source. After all, not everyone watches tv or listens to radio, (or necessarily has the option,) and the same stuff ain't broadcasted to everywhere on earth. But that one sound also probably wasn't heard by those who wwre deaf or had poor enough hearing. Also those on the other side of rhe planet probably didn't, but oh well. The sound itself was the eruption of Krakatoa (or Krakatau, based on newer translations of the name,) a volcano in the Philippines. It's eruption was so loud that people on an isand off of Madagascar thought it was cannon fire.
Here's the article from Wikipedia on it and the picture from there. Beyond that do your own research.

Edit: if the link don't work, search it up yourself. There's a good video on YouTube, if you find the right one. I found it years ago before doing my own research.

The point of Buddhism in this context would be to not get in the fight in the first place. Same with any pacifist. They don't go looking for a fight. Often, with "true" pacifists, even if you kill them they don't fight back. That's the entire point. Am I a "true" pacifist? No. Do I think going looking for a fight is a good idea? Also no. As for overwhelming violence being the only answer to violence.. that in itself propogates the same system of violence that likely started rhe fight in the first place. Is it easy to achieve peace? No. Is it something that can only be achieved by one side taking a step back first? Of course. Now the big question you seem to be asking, DOES THIS APPLY TO GENOCIDE? Well I suggest doing some research on what those who took oaths of pacifism did during the second world war. It's fascinating stuff. After all, pascifism isn't doing nothing. It just means not directly joining conflicts. Technically, medics are pacifists in the vast majority of wars. That's why no one shoots them. What happens when one side shoots a doctor and now it's no holds barred and they get shot, go back to base, and no one can take care of the wound? It's a matter of necessity. Outside of such conflicts, shit happens. It doesn't mean one should commit murder even if the person they've killed is a murderer. That's still murder. The point of not stooping to such a level is to not become what you deal with. As I said earlier, I'm not a pacifist. At least not a "true" one, since I practice self-defensive martial arts. But that doesn't mean I'm going to kill someone who tried to stab me. There are much better, less fatal, and far worse ways to deal with such a person. After all, in self-defense you can still break bones without killing. Making them quadriplegic doesn't kill them, so go ahead and break their spine.
To clarify my policy is simply not to start conflict and only engage when forced to. If ya want my wallet, I'll even take out rhe cash and hand it to ya. Less annoying than having to replace my ID over just some money. Edit: Almost forgot to mention I enjoy philosophy because I study it. No philosophy is truly "perfect." Perfection itself is a flawed concept, at least in how rigidly it's applied and what constitutes perfection.

I mean, same. But also it's fun to try and figure out his psychological condition. So far he's either just bordering on psychopathy or sociopathy, I can't recall which, and is most likely schizophrenic.

And they already saw rhe trade caravan wagon... he done for. Also i doubt a competent mage like the one from his party died from falling. After all, the dude was the priest, right?
On a side note, that is the fastest treatment of schizophrenia I've ever seen.
