They have magic right? And they're a Empire, so it means a lot of people right? At least one of these guys must be a ice mage, so they can just lure those invincible boats to the further sea and then lock then in place with ice, so long as it's not trying to hurt the ship or the crew members the defensive magic will not take effect. That is my best guess.

I think a more practical power like that would be time control, don't want something bad happening? just go back in time a little bit, want to stop something from getting cold? Stop that thing in time and you'll have all of the 'time' in the world to eat that.So long as you don't abuse it or go drastically back in time you're most definitely set for a easy life.

A good example was basically everyone during and after the pandemic, no one remembered how to actually talk properly and/or gained a sense of uneasiness during any type of human interaction. Some people never recovered from that, and others were like that from the beginning, the event even made it worse a lot of times.
