That brought numbers down to 8. MC technically was a pseudo-emperor at this point.
There were two heavenly emperors in the unorthodox, one got killed by MC, while the other is the leader of unorthodox, and MC is recognized as a Heavenly Emperor with fake identity.
Numbers are still at 8?
During demon war, The Grand Monk is killed by his disciple, number down to 7
Mc kills Heavenly Demon in demon war, numbers down to 7, but MC becomes recognized as a Heavenly Emperor, so number goes back up to 8.
Alliance Leader sacrificed to save the alliance, numbers back down to 6.
Kwon Dong Je is killed by dark heaven leader, numbers down to 5.
Dark Heaven leader becomes a heavenly emperor, bringing total number back up to 6.

So far, Unorthodox faction: 1 Heavenly Emperor + MC/in disguise
Orthodox Faction: Great Supreme Sword Sage (new alliance leader), MC, and maybe Golden Sword Sect Leader aka Sword Demon?
Dark Heaven: Leader

That makes 6. 2 of them are MC. If Sword Demon isn't included in official count, then one heavenly emperor is unaccounted for, unless it's the old man with the fan, but the Jegal is more known for their smarts than their martial arts, so, that would make him the weakest heavenly emperor if so...

Kwon Dong wasn't the strongest of the heavenly emperors. As mentioned before, the Blood Lord was the strongest of them all.

And in the previous timeline, it took more than one heavenly emperor plus many other heroes to take on the final boss. If one strong guy at 150% is somehow good enough to replace multiple heroes needed to win, then why bother with a war?
