How would him being directly involved in the story make it better? Also if everyone was just like "welp, i dont care about what happened to him, that's in the past!" it would lower the tension and cheapen the accomplishments of the up and coming raguokas.

he's someone who worked hard to succeed in something he loved, walking on the path that everyone else is trying to follow, only to have that dream completely stomped out of existence in front of everyone he loves (remember he wasn't just rejected, but expelled. Imagine the pain and humiliation he must have felt).

His absence is way more powerful than his presence could be, since it simultaneously casts a shadow on everything and gives the characters space to learn and grow from his example and failure. The author knows exactly what to do with the dad

three tactical options:
1. keep man pressing (they need CB's that can effectively kill the long balls consistently, like VVD, Saliba, Konate, Araujo, etc., and this chapter seems to show that the esperion pair wont be able to)
2. fall back and hit barca on counters (their LB/RBs are weak in duels tho so i don't rate this strategy. plus they would need kenta yoshitsune up top as a more consistent gamebreaker)
3. out-possess barca and then gegenpress as soon as they lose it (think we've seen they can't out-possess barca)

1 and 3 are the best strats for their team comp but they don't have the talent level or experience to pull it off, so they're going to lose
