So in short two possibilities as I have come to understand the situation from Chatgpt..
1. A more ambiguous word meaning something equivalent to "celestial body" was used to sound grander and the translator carelessly translated to star ignoring the context.
2. "Planet" was specified but something like Machine Translation was used or a extremely unskilled translator, though chatgpt thought MT without editorial checking made much more sense.
3, The author originally specified "star" in reference to a planet. But chatgpt says extremely unlikely.Really both strongly point to MT as it requires ignoring context either way.
BTW this comic is indicated by MK to be Chinese based on the front page with the slight cultivation flavor to things.
"Japanese the word for star and planet is the same, or share a Kanji"
I wonder how Japanese astronomers deal with that. Maybe they use one of the other writing versions or just use a made up specialized term or a English term or something.
Also big bad MC sitting there tied up...
But it does look like different groups translated this.
I wanted to join their Discord to talk about this, but I can't find it.
I think I see what they are going for. Like give MC a break for not being faster. But they could have had a proper scout or couldn't the mage for example do it? Mapping and figuring out directions and best paths should be in a scholars wheelhouse. I still feel this reply doesn't fit though.
Mistranslation or does author not do math, at all?
If it could just make a new core it would have done so for itself but if it's a human heart then it couldn't? But then it sounded like MC would keep the powers, did MC have a monster core before, did MC need a monster core to transform?
I'm actually good with MC living even if the how of it doesn't make much sense. Authors have to plot armor their MC, I think fan history shows that unless your story had changing MC that easily died or something from the start a author can't afford to kill off their MC, they'd loose too much popularity. It is also hella problematic for writing story when you destroy the core of the story, so you have a massive popularity lose and ratchet up writing difficulty to high levels at the same time.
We all know MC lose their plot armor near the end, But I still want a happy story. All sorts of story contrivance annoy me but give me my happy endings! That said there are other ways to give us a happy ending where MC lives without this kind of thing. But I can see what the author was going for.
Like this Mercia, why the fuck would she be after Sharione. I really should take this off of follows. It's getting back into crazy stupid territory again. Maybe one more chapter, see if the story gives any real justification for this.
Yeah but you couldn't see past the monster dropping a body in the middle of the match as anything but random, but you're convinced by so little of a nefarious plot. Helmut is feeling a bit inconsistent here.
