Though I think the edging/sadomasochism on the most recent swapped girl was pretty unnecessary still, she could've came much sooner. His means could've been better, that's the only bad thing I can remember him doing. Him taking her autonomy prevents one more obstacle towards equality and gives MC another tool to save his own life so that part itself is fine, he can return it later when she changes her ways and he doesn't need her to save himself.
The next two girls he's hoping to recruit probably don't deserve to have their autonomy taken (shoplifting and prostituting aren't as fucked up as sex trafficking or advocating for half the human race being slaves), but if push comes to shove it'll be justifiable if MC has to take the ability jammer's body just so he has a way of disabling his sister's instant kill.
I agree they could've been a bit more explicit with the difference of his affection with the princess versus random women, but his inaction towards true acts of infidelity is still apparent.
I mostly disagree with the idea he acts like he's in a harem story, a true harem protagonist with his flirtiness would go farther than paying for some lunch or saying niceties. He also expresses the intent behind his actions as being a true gentleman (maybe he worded it slightly different but you get my point that it's pure), whereas the intent of a flirt harem protag would be to love several beautiful women at once.
Anyways, I'm so glad this isn't a harem story. :P
I was hoping a different ghost gal would do the swap but this is fine too I guess.
Most of the time the way MC gets screwed over feels like an ass pull. Imagine if you were doing a questionnaire for the position you've been working towards your whole life, one that took blood sweat and tears, and right as you get to the final question some guy comes in, takes it from you, and gives you a new one with absolutely no relation to the old one, then he points at the clock and says "times up, better luck next year" before pouring coffee over your head. And of course the only thing you can do is go home, cry in the shower, and try cramming several years of knowledge into one again. The whole situation is bizarre and I find it highly relatable to this manga.
This manga is unrewarding and unfair. The author may really enjoy dangling hope out of their characters' reach only to meet them with setbacks and then inevitable tragedy. Don't get attached to any characters here, they'll probably disappear or their undeserved infinite suffering will make you feel bad.
