Perhaps I misunderstood, but in a previous chapter the demon mentioned something about MC's memory being blocked, and then while pointing her finger or something those memories of his started flooding back, I honestly think it's entirely her fault he was "chillin'", notice how MC thought his childhood friend was just a shut-in and then questioned why he didn't think about all the suffering she went through.

So yeah, either I misunderstood and everyone's outrage is well placed, or everyone else misunderstood and the story's actually fine just maybe not perfectly translated.

Maybe it'll get a happy ending in one of the next loops?? Yay!

Probably, he used his unhappy feelings as a cover to save his leader, which is interesting. It's quite likeable that he has that but puts it aside for his loyalty and bonds, he's a real human-like character.

I like to imagine ghosts do exist, but the living are naturally so spiritually unattuned the dead are constantly pissing themselves when we visit old/abandoned/haunted places seeking them out.

I feel like nobody getting any sleep with Salvos is an obvious lewd joke especially considering the misunderstanding in the earlier chapter where she was stripping (to transform). God Salvos is hot (due to her strategy of wrapping parts of her body in fire of course).

None of the characters here are really physically threatened, they're just fighting within self constructed constraints which isn't new to OP MC stories, MC isn't really being balanced he's just trying to appear weaker than he is while getting out of that situation. They weren't going to fight to win in the first place, it'd be too easy and would defeat the whole purpose of posing as talented human adventurers.
