Very much so. If someone goes too far into it and gets distracted, it can lead to qi deviation / death. Think that was what that asshole was aiming for, but MC has plot armour.

Usually with harems, i've picked out a favourite girl by now and am actively rooting for her.
The problem i've discovered, both with this and I Killed An Academy Player, is that either the writing or character design is so far above what i'm used to, I literally CAN'T pick one.
Lucy is sweet cat, Janica is happy dog and... I haven't really got an animal comparison for (is her name lortelle?) the rich girl.
