So many series like this, can't we ever have the idiots realize their mistake?
I know stories like this do it to drum up antagonistic dynamics but there has got to be other ways to write this out...
Oh well not gonna stop reading.
This was a good ending, maybe would have liked for a bit longer of an epilogue but better than shonen jump trying to drag this on for 2/3/20+ more arcs for no damn reason.
I could understand if there was a bit more within the story that suggested he had any such attachments to one of the FMC's but at best he was friends or comrades with peeps. Story never explored that side of things with any of the FMCs.
Outside of that, the ending is otherwise satisfying.
Sure the story ends in a way where more tales could be told of that universe but rather not see another Boruto...
Better than them dragging it on forever trying to make infinite profit, sure would have liked to see maybe 1 more chapter of epilogue but the story ends with "the fight continues" type of ending.
The most major threat (#9) was neutralized, its implied that #9 is what the spirits the created #8 were out to get revenge on. There really isn't any loose ends outside of people who like to ship.
Though #8 does vaguely imply the source of the kaiju and would have been nice if they explored that a bit more for the world building. Ultimately wasn't important to the ending itself. Only if they were going to drag the story on for another arc.
For the MC the fact that he was has been a secret to all till now.
From a readers stand point sure, but from the perspective of the characters in story, not so much.
Also if theo wasn't the type of person he is, the clan head would have eliminated him. Likely had he failed that test is what I mean.
Its memories from the previous/tyrant clan head.
Its a very minor nitpick mind you but just too many series using odd grammar. I know that part of the choice of wording likely is to keep with the O.G. translation and vibe but stuff like:
"I am higher on the hierarchy than you." technically not the same word twice but phonetically just a bad sentence, would have been better as "I am above you on the hierarchy" or something like that.
IDK just noticed quite a few series making awkward word choices lately and its irking me as of late.
Can't wait for the next season (manga is now behind the anime)
Even better, read the novel.
War God makes sense since he made divine general at like... level 30? was it? before 40 at least, even his first mater was a 5? star divine general when first introduced.
He's literally a nigh unkillable 1 man army that's able to punch WAY above his "Weight class" in levels on top of which.
If the demons and dragons haven't made him #1 priority elimination target (assume by now even they know of "war god lin") they are fools.
The way he treated rudi is realistic to a point, humans often get on the wrong side of each other for failing to communicate or because they have unrealistic expectations of each other, in the case of the fight in millishion it was both.
Between rudi downplaying his own struggles and pauls expectations of rudi as being a "genius son" being unreasonable.
Lastly paul was surprised because he caused their party, an S-rank party to collapse due to running off with the healer... yet despite that, they were all willing to still help paul, MEANING they may hate what paul did but they still had enough goodwill toward him or at least his newfound plight to help him for old times sake.
Dependently and I will not be specific to avoid spoilers but, with a tad bit of artistic license to modify event sequences... Turning Point 4 could be very very emotionally damaging... I kind of hope they portray it the way I had envisioned (if one wants to purposefully inflict maximum emotional damage)
Paul was a bit of a scum bag, but he wasn't irredeemable and tried his best to make up for his shortcomings, moreover he was extremely dedicated to his family as shown buy his struggles just to bring them back together.
This says more about you than the character of paul though.
Then as he actually is able to use alone skills, starts making a name for himself, earning respect...
Boruto? Waaaah daddy's too busy RUNNING A LITERAL FUCKING COUNTRY waaaah.
Feels like skipping a step to go straight to the airplane, then again, that's the goal so obviously there is still a journey... MC having past life memories going to help a bit, at least with steering his collaborators in what to look for and research.
In that respect its much better for him to be a generalist/in management of the over all R&D then actively invovled, outside of knowing how to evaluate if things look right/are on the right track.
