Honestly had they started with his nano bots running wild I may not have as much issue with the premise (due to some kind of foreign body interference) but they never delved into it deep enough and the changing descriptor feels like Realtime retcon TBH.
Frankly chock it up to this being off the rails from the original author's vision, on a related note, why did the novel go on indefinite haitus? Didn't sell well? or issues with the author?
WHICH TBH makes way more sense than straight cancer, given they have scifi tech that can regrow limbs. (which means presumably those same nano bots could counter cancer at the cellular level)
But also since this is the first chapter to even mention this fact, it sounds almost like a retcon less than bad translation so far.
Nano tech that can regrow limbs for that matter. Though with as bad as the writing quality has been lately I'm more willing to chock this one up to a writing retcon after fan criticism since it sounds like the manga is going its own way after the novel canon ran out.
After the fantrans dropped it to respect the official publication of the LN in the west + those brain meltingly bad MTL that tried to keep it going...
Agree however, that tanked the stories quality by several magnatudes.
Boo hoo, doesn't change the fact that she herself turned into a monster too. It would be one thing if she wasn't actively part of fucking up raul's life, but she was. I don't know why, not exactly against villain redemption storylines, but not when they have already done shit like the princess has.
Be one thing if the author LED with their tragic story so we knew from day 1 why they were scum, but when they do it this way, always feels revisionist/retcon.
Anyways, astral dude at the end of this chapter was purported to actually be the main bad guy of this story. (I have not read the novel this is just a vague memory from possibly 100 chapters ago)
Either way story seems a far cry from being close to wrapping up between the remaining colossi and the overarching story that they keep hinting at.
