I disagree. You can't just focus on the main characters all the time. I get that shigaraki hasn't been here for a while, but neither has Deku. At the end of the day, this is how a final battle should be, and I would argue that this solves the main issue we got in say, the 4th shinobi war, where TOO MUCH focus was dedicated to naruto and sasuke, to the point where we barely got glimpses of the other characters, no matter how important they were.

It's a basic story. The context was retconned to make it feel okay-ish because the author decided to turn it into a story where the girls are forgiven after the fact. Thought, with context, Saitou looks like she is a victim here. You can't just jump on someone without saying anything and expect them to understand that you were worried about earthquakes or some shit. The sister on the other hand is irredeemable and can only hide behind the fact that she was super young at the time.

Not commenting on the one who fake confessed for now because the retcon makes it look actively WORSE, but we don't have the whole story yet. She went from being forced by her friends and clearly feeling regret to apparently smiling when she did it (though I wouldn't be surprised if it was revealed to be MC's delusion).

You can really feel that it's a retcon by looking at the girl acting like fucking psychopath like 2 chapters ago though.
