Don't question it. They want it to seem linear because it's easier to understand and the modes sound cooler. The numbers also won't look as clean if it's 0.1, 0.05, 0.025, 0.0125.

Are those lead suits or just leather ones? I don't think leather suits can stop radiation, but if it could block that type of radiation, a regular suit of armor would do the same.

It's also up to the MC at that point. He could have easily given the order to capture them and ask what is going on instead of letting them all get killed.

And yet MC didn't ask why they wanted to leave when he heard about the rebellion, and let them all be killed. They are basically slaves now because in their mind, if any of them try to leave they will be killed. At this point you are just victim blaming.

I doubt it. Why would they go though the trouble of refining it for something that was ornamental? For the symptoms that they described and only being exposed to it for one night it would have to be pretty refined.

The choice is
1. Freedom but a hard life
2. Do whatever the nagas tell them to but a safer life
Both are uncertain because they have no idea if the nagas will let them live comfortably or not, while being free they would have to rat around like what they are already doing but there will be no home to go back to.
