I feel there shouldn't be too many more storylines to go before Ippo returns but I really think it all depends on the 'Kumi dilemma'. They just don't mesh with each other, its one thing to not care for your significant others hobby but Kumi actively hates it and only shows up/talks about it because she is literally forced by both Ippo and her Brother being boxers first, people second.

I've always felt that the author can't quite figure out what to do with Kumi but that is also because of how Ippo is, in equal parts to how Kumi is. And then the eternal question of how dark the story is gonna get with it being boxing its always played with injuries but its never quite commited to either side.

Anyways I really looking forward to the Ricardo - Sendo match, Sendo, I feel, always delivers on the fights.
