Meanwhile, the Ten Master Clans selection meeting, followed by magicians all over the world, is due to take place at a hotel in Hokone.

In July 2096, the summer event of the year for the national magic high school competition, known as the Nine Schools Competition will be held. However the rules for this Nine Schools Competition are different from previous years.
One month before the Nine Schools Competition, significant changes in the rules and events were made which forced each of the national magic high schools to be busy up until the day of the competition.
While Tatsuya is planning for the next Nine Schools Competition, an anonymous message is delivered. The message contains information that a new plot will occur during the Nine Schools Competition.
While the competition is happening, Tatsuya runs through the dark forests of Fuji, in order to oppose the conspiracy of betrayal.
The 2nd Year of the Nine Schools Competition has begun.

Zhou Gongjin who was the mastermind of what happened in the “Parasite Doll” incident of “Nine Schools Competition” has fled from Yokohama, to the area of the original ancient magic users group centered around Kyoto also known as the “traditionalists”. Since then two months have passed — The “National High School Magic Thesis Competition” will soon be held. This year's Thesis Competition is being held in Kyoto sponsored by the Magic Association and in their conference hall. Tatsuya gets visited by the Kuroba twins who as representatives bring Yotsuba Maya's letter to him. The letter is a request from his aunt saying — “hope your cooperation to capture Zhou Gongjin”.
While it is questionable that whether it is a “command” rather than a “request”, Tatsuya and Miyuki go to Kudou's house as they are in the center as opponents of the “traditionalists”. So, two siblings have an encounter of the fate with the “Genius Augmented Magician”. Conspiracy of the ancient city was the stage. The fate that has continued to smolder away in the back of the history of magician development, Tatsuya and Miyuki and his companions are challenged.

The summer break is over and a new term begins, with it the time to decide on the new Student Council President starts.

The seasons have changed and it will soon be the second spring. Tatsuya and Miyuki have finished their first year at First Magic High School and are on their spring break. The two go to their villa on the Ogasawara Island archipelago. After only a small moment of peace a lone young woman named Kokoa appears before them. She has abandoned the Naval base and she tells Tatsuya her one wish.

The second year has started! Mikihiko has been promoted to Course 1, Tatsuya has entered the new Magical Engineering Course, and trouble is brewing between Saegusa Mayumi's younger twin sisters and 1st year representative Shippou Takuma, a member of the 18 Assistant House's Shippou Household.
