It's a bit long so TL:DR at the bottom

So like a year or 2 before (I forget) mangakatana used to use disqus[.com] for comments system. But they replaced it for the currently used comment system. Which is probably for more control and customization over comments.
But since there are A LOT of old comments (like 100 thousands) that used disqus, they didn't wanna remove them. So they archived all of them and placed them under the same comment sections. While being able to use the new comment system
Hence the "dead accounts"

TL:DR the "dead accounts" are the old comments before the new comment system was implemented
