That has got to be the most well constructed system I have seen yet to explain Regression. No “MUH Magic did it” or “I am just so angry I lost so I will suddenly regress”. This man quested his whole life to specifically earn regression and had to pass the heaven’s test to be worthy of regression.

The entire beast men race is not genocided . Remember Ozo the Bear leader? He refuses to help with the war effort and in the LN the other beast leaders basically tell him they’ll remember it after the war. The bear race makes it through rather unscathed because it gets remembered ironically. Also it’s in the LN but not in the manga is stuff about a group of beast men that harassed Gold Knight. Gold beats them down and lectures them about virtue and knightly honor. They actually take the lecture to heart and change their ways and establish a beast man society away from the rest of the beast kin living up to Gold’s ideals of virtue and defending the weak.

At least the author took the criticism from last season to heart and started off this season with him getting some revenge on his family
