They definitely can heal like a human can, but their regeneration abilities are entirely centered around dying and being revived.

Which chapter did the MC cut off his arm and heal it without dying? As im very certain they don't have like a healing factor type regeneration. If you're talking about when he climbed the wall by creating holes with his arms, he was very clear that he had to kill himself each time to do it. He is incredibly liberal with killing himself haha

Also I wanted to correct myself, I think there is one other way they regenerate but at this point in the manga its not really revealed so im gonna spoiler it. Potentially ruinous spoilers: When an Ajin has one of those “outbursts” their black mist energy heals everything around them. But iirc that “outburst” has loose trigger rules with it often needing extreme emotions and death.

Their body parts only heal if they die. If he dies the tranq won’t be in his system anymore. They don't want that.

Its actually very simple and im shocked I missed it the first time. They redo both of the arms to prevent him from dying of blood loss from his fingers being shot off. Its actually very smart.

There isn’t a penalty but a lack of bonuses. If one of his subjects gets the kill there’s a bonus on earnings, if he does there aren’t any bonuses.
