The MC is a moron, and I don't know why so many people here think that Baron is the only one at fault.
The MC is just as much of a self-absorbed prick as Baron, he's just not an angry prick because he's able to overpower everyone. When he was under Baron in his first life, he wasn't exactly happy with that arrangement. Now the shoe's on the other foot and he acts surprised when things go sideways.
The thoughtless arrogance to put someone who doesn't like you on your team, thinking "I'll just carry everyone anyways because I'm just that amazing" is as empty-headed as they come. Sidelining someone who has incredible talent and power but has MAJOR ego problems because of it, without explaining the plan properly ahead of time, and putting yourself in the spotlight without really talking things out with them, it's all ridiculous. Baron was just standing around doing nothing because he didn't even need to be there, and he knew that. That prick mage on the enemy team decided that mid-boss was the BEST TIME EVER to stick her finger into a bleeding wound and rub salt and alcohol into it for good measure.
Maybe the MC could have paired up with Baron to 2v1 the boss while the other team members (and his own niece!) were taking care of the raid mechanic?
It's all so tiresome. The MC has negative leadership skills, no social awareness, and no class. He seems to think that he's always right, doesn't communicate important information to others, and he only seems to get by on his ever-stacking cheat abilities. Through plot armor, deus ex machina, and heaven's luck, he hasn't died the half-dozen times he should have.
This manhwa has almost the lowest-tier MC possible, where the only way down is to have a harem.

Honestly, not really. Not exactly. I know that Imperialist Japan did a lot of terrible stuff a century ago, so Koreans and Chinese hate Japan for that reason. Such is life. Still looks GOOFY though.

I know this is an odd place to say this, but does anyone else have an issue with malicious ads and redirects when using mobile? This last one opened a new tab and started loading various websites dozens of times. If there's no solution to the malicous ads and redirects, I'm gonna have to stop using this site. It's a shame, too, because I really like the layout and interface. Anyone have advice for a mobile user?

This does a few things, some others have mentioned:- Reveals the true culprit, the uncle, as evil- Undermines the uncle's plans and sets him way back- Most importantly, and the true reason, it will force Hwa to confront Ran and truly become "Hwaran." Having the two halves unite will allow both to live and become whole. Will she remain a Yaksha at that time? We'll see.
All of this is to not only save the city, but also both Hwa and Ran. Avoiding this fight means that she would never be in dire enough straits to face the existential conundrum of her own existence.

Is it just me, or does the translation seem stilted and awkward at times? Characters will often phrase things oddly, and in ways that obscure their meaning.

If it's been revealed to the public that Japan used mind control to take Korea's top player, wouldn't that normally create an international incident? Not just between Japan and Korea, but also with major powers like the US getting involved and demanding her imprisonment? Maybe evem execution due to her attempted murder of another rising star of Korea.
Not because the US would care about Korea, but because she represents a material threat to other countries and their players. I wouldn't be surprised if she were assassinated.
But the plot of this manhwa doesn't make any sense and is held together by asspulls and plot armor, so I don't expect anything intelligent to occur.

Chung Myung is a very high-tier MC. Definitely one of the best out there. He continues to outdo himself in both wisdom and conniving BS artistry.

This makes me wonder how strong the MC actually is. Obviously he's weak compared to his companions, but they're all higher-floor natives to begin with. Maybe he's actually quite strong compared to the average tower climber by now?
