I have my own opinion, and i'm not gonna change it, from the point of view of story, character development and overall pacing of the arcs, i believe the other manga is far superior to this one, far far superior, but that does not mean this one is bad, this one is good, i can see why it was choosen for animation, i just wish the one i believe is superior was choosen, but is not the first time an story is overlook, and won't be the last time.
And about the axing, long time reades can tell you that many, many, many amazing mangas have been axed, whitout apparent reasons, and crappy trash mangas and manwhas keep going for hundreds of issues, but that's not unheard it either, everybody knows about one amazing tv or straming show that was cancellated while crap keeps going on season afther season.
Having a manga axed does not mean is bad, going for thousand issues does not mean is good, just things that happens.
So relax dude, i'm way too old and i'm not willing at all on changing my opinions, but i won't force you to change yours either, so relax dude, just relax.

its all relative to the story, as far as i can recall, in all my 40+ years watching anime, i only recall 2 times female masturbation was onscreen of main stream anime, not ovas or hentais, tv aired anime, one was just mentionated, and almost as a joke, and the other was shown kinds shadowed, and altough never explicit say it was a bad thing, it did was treated negativly in the overall story. I guess much like Gay and Trans characters, eventually will be shown as something normal, while most of the world still hide it because god will be mad if you even think about it, or at least the gods who pays money to produce things.

Japan is not prude like the rest of the world, so having a self sexually active tween or fanservice of underage characters doing fanservice in text and manga is not a problem, but in anime format there are money interest, advertisers, and this days, the globalization to fear about when comes to choosing wich series will become animes, and thats recent, just a decade ago or so, there was a serie of ovas called today in class 5 that put 5th graders in very, very ecchi situations, nothing really sultry or hentai, but ecchi enough to make any politician and woke call to arms and burn japan, but those where the old days, a decade ago, things change, and we get old.

is not that weird, the manga of the power of the saint is omniscient haven't even reached the point where the first season ended, and we are half of the second season already, the manga of Knights and magic was published years after the anime, heck i think tenchi muyo mangas where published years afther the second set of ovas, and in this days, since most stories begin on a Light novel or web novel, there is more than enough material for the anime to be before the manga.
