honestly the church was the only capable schemer once you found out about 2nd shadows father, biggest possibility when the statues were corrupted, and a possibility when they first revealed golden eyes... Biggest reason... They want authority over the nation

Curious of one thing... What is a story without a plot? There are rises, climaxes, falls, and repeat. There is character development for more than the main character. There's love interest. Antagonists both hidden and revealed. And a hit to a plot where ML could be demon lord or MC could disperse the "evil" within him. What's really missing for a romance?

@SiltheJuereen it's assumable that no 2 summoners have the same summon. He also knows that the wolf is hers and that their marriage was fake to "teach him summoning". If ML can figure out that hes been posing her summons as his, then he shouldn't be a commander bc he lacks the ability to compile and understand information. Although its wrong to not tell the commander your full power, it also isn't detrimental to mission status until you're talking about who to sacrifice for retreat

@SeniorBrother honestly, given their paladins disposition on summoners (a powerful ally) is bad enough to kill them off, and knowing just how powerful the black magic had to be for "most priests to not detect it on the statues", pushing the duchess to stop the elixers, having the strength to slaughter the tigre tribe, having access around the continent, and the power to do all that while being inconspicuous; there's only one person/group who'd gain anything and thats the church being able to expand their influence or a group of Nobles promised authority. Unfortunately its more realistic to suspect the church

Just as a summoner has to work hard to be able to summon the different beasts and control the magic, a sword-master has to work hard to build up strength and endurance. Either could become an assassin by trade. One has brain, one has brawn. Unfortunately, its too much to compare quickly.
