to be fair, the base of necromancy is the exploitation of the dead, which he's been doing, shouldn't summoning be one of the last things? Tbh, i would've absorbed their souls without a second thought. It's a shame that people have to die but it was the towers fault, and whoever has the killing intent

in most gaming situations to min/max a character people will use different gear for different places ie for a mage in grass biomes you may use gear that increases fire-based attacks vs a water biome they may want to use electric

But the main point is with the flower "cosmetics" it gives extra stats when put over gear... Meaning you don't have to take gear off to receive it's benefits

Not really... In this world I'm assuming most people unlock other traits the difference would be that their lineup was bad ie a mage who spent most of their life learning ice spells to unlock innate fire proficiency
