The writer doesn't seem to really care much for the weird age dynamic ngl. The author is not subtle at all, so if he doesn't seem to care that much, neither will I. Wouldn't be the first manga to do that

Outside of that "destroy" is an exaggeration especially in comparison to Goblin Slayer. The aliens are rude and litter, but the goblins kill, rape, steal, rape some more and burn down houses. Some of them are criminals too, yeah, but not most of them and it's not baked into their instinct like goblins to be evil either. "Ruin" totally, "Degrade" absolutely. "Destroy"? Let's not get overzealous.

There is no good goblin, but a dead goblin. Here the author has made several attempts to show aliens in a sympathetic light to some extent or show how some people can get along with them. Goblins can literally not even be communicated with they just make noises. The biggest problem with aliens is the humans codifying them, it's nothing push back, cultural shifts and regulations can't fix. They're not even remotely similar

I know, I'm just lightly jabbing about the fact the writer is a huge fujoshi. I don't actually care about yaoi in the slightest

Eh, I like multiple perspectives in narratives. And it ain't really the same as Goblin Slayer cuz Goblins are a class of monster. More like rat-orangutans than intelligent creatures you can confide and communicate with. Plus there's all that stuff about the gods and whatever. Point is Goblin Slayer is meant to be like Dark Souls and this is a political drama. So it's not the same at all. I'm invested at least. It's not like the manga was any good at keeping the killing aliens plot line that interesting after a while anyways. So it's good to mix things up.
