You'd expect SOMEONE to parry the "disappears -> hits you and appears behind you" thing after it is used soooooooo much.

So... I think he jumped the gun on dismissing the questioning. I would've answered some of her questions before ending the conversation. It's not like the answers would've revealed a brand new weakness or something... right?
Yes, the notion of "simply not knowing" might be hard to believe; especially out of context. Thing is, she read the entire novel, so there is plenty of context - as well as his reputation.

He ended the conversation too quickly, imo, like a Baldur's Gate 3 player cutting the conversation short and just attacking.

"That doesn't work on me" is easily countered by just trying it anyway. Entities with a lot of power love to spit out whatever they want, especially lies on how you can't beat them.

tbh, I was hoping he'd join Mr. Main Character and fight against the Abyss Dragon.

I want peak comedy where "balance" is forcibly fixed by buffing Mr. Main Character aaaaaaaaand the first thing he does is strike the Toki pose and instantly kill the enemy.

I don't think she was ever dating that redhead. The redhead dude was infatuated with her, but that was it. There was a rumor of them dating, but rumors are just that.

Furthermore, the only thing that matters in a work like this is the comedy -> and the redhead was used as the butt of a joke and so he served his purpose for the most part.

That is fair and I'm not against that. I'm against the notion of putting marriage on a pedestal and making it seem like an impossible goal. It's not good to do that.
