It's this thing Authors do where they want their MC's to be altruistic and "kindhearted" by just forgiving horrible behavior and sometimes straight up crimes in this weirdly misguided "I will rise above them" mentality instead of letting the bad guys face legitimate consequences.

He wants kids, but his wife can't have kids anymore and his mom and sister both individually made him feel like garbage for not having children of his own, and instead is raising someone else's. So the sister saying that they're having another baby after just telling him that he'll never understand what it's like to be a parent is even more a slap in the face because from his perspective, she is just rubbing in that he doesn’t have/probably never will have kids of his own.

Unless he's a regressor, or reincarnator.

Good start, but it falls headfirst into the annoying tropes, and by chapter 12, I started kind of rooting for the MC to get over her instead of them to get together.

The father is an already established POS that deserves multiple ass whooping for other stuff he did. So making passes at his son's fiance and inappropriately touching her(even accidentally) is just more fuel for the fire.

Dex telling the elves that they're the least worthy of all the species to inheret that power is extremely satisfying.

Probably won't happen, but it'd be hilarious if this killed the main villain and all the obviously super evil guys had to try to be the "heroes that are trying to save the world" now
