Hoshino has a respectable goal, helping school children in her way. She's very introvert not entirely fun but I don't hate her, she cares for her friend and easily admits mistakes to improve. 

I felt compelled to comment that, as shown by Light in this instance, he is egotistical in that he chose the mass' perspective which suits him. That someone with his level of intelligence would assume that most individuals who say that killing someone is illegal are just putting on a front is ridiculous. I have watched the anime but only just started to binge on the manga, Kira indeed is a child attempting to be a god, he holds no moral qualms in his game (there's a reason why we wanted to abolish death sentence but enforce lifetime sentence). He seeks recognition as discussed earlier.
