Just to sum things up, they're probably the only bunch of adults together who think about their childhood to the point of needle in the haystack and ezpz abandon their wives.
Ochiai "shogun" abandoned his wife.
Yoshitsune forsakes his wife and kid.
Maruo left his wife and child. nods that they're presumedly "dead." 
Keroyon abandoned his wife.

You know, the reveal in the first few panels also shows that she saw his intent in Chapter 1. It's great to see changes in people for the better.

20th century boys is a masterclass of its own. It deserves to be made as series, not anime in my humble opinion.

Urasawa is masterclass in making almost all his characters useful.

I'm just going to write this down:
Kanna is a highly intellectual kid, for her to understand her uncle's deep ramblings at such a tender age is no small feat, and she on her own took the trains to reach precisely a place in Tokyo to meet her uncle is another. Kanna has all the IQs she needs; she's lucky to have her uncle as her upbringing figure. Kenji has all the humanity qualities she needs to be a decent human. 
I'm upset with Kenji's sister. But there's one flaw mistake she made when she was younger, which may point to what she may resorted to in future: she could date a person she didn't fond of to get her younger brother a guitar. It's not a huge red flag but for that age to make such a decision is a very huge red flag. I'm glad Kenji stepped in to be a parental figure for Kanna and he did influence this bright kid to her positive best.
