Since some need additional context, imagine a scenario where is jerkface npc is drinking in a bar. A war general is celebrating that he took a shortcut and was a able to plunder mroe goods from a village, but suffered casualties. And then the wife of one of the dead soldiers complains and attacks the dude for forcing her husband on a rocky slope and getting him killed...

...and then instead of consoling the poor woman or explaining the situation, he retaliates and beats her ass, can you tell me in all honesty you'd root for the jerkface npc?

I'm not saying mc is an asshole in this scene (I wanan tho), but the very idea that mc is framed as the main character has clearly warped common sense around the issue. It is an objective fact that, to everyone, mc took an alternate path that secured victory even if there may have been potentially other paths to that same outcome, ones which would incurr less losses (unbeknownst to everyone else, this isn't true)

And IN his path he got people killed.

I swore I've thought of this analogy before but if I time travel and kick someone in the balls right before they get a full body check up (they get specifically their nuts checked out and find a tumor), then sure I've saved them, but I can't expect them to not be angry at me initially for kicking them in the balls, or angry afterwards when it would have seemingly been found about naturally (you should fully expect to get punched in the face, reasonably).

Except mc had the privilege of having a reasonable explanation for everything, and still reacted by instigating bro. They were able to control the situation well enough that I didn't mind but yeah...

also I swore he was like driven to this point from some sort of refusal to helpp his daughter or sum, maybe im just coping since it wouldnt justify his actions anyways

Okay but I'm a good bit sure they're killing him because he's resisting, not because he's "evil"

Best outcome is he's locked up for life but at least gets to see his daughter once a millenia.
Also the essence of the comment could probably extend to "they didn't have to struggle surviving if she could be cured so easily", meaning in consideration of the entire journey of "evil deeds" mister old knight has been conducting (killing people)

Not the epitome of all anime but it doesnt leech off what we know from iruma and on its own is a pretty nice shounen, feels quite authentic and not badly written in the slightest

albeit shounen tropes with Iruma's prodigal dodging abilities, his character for the most part etc etc, just regular stuff like pacing and fight scenes and eccentricity yknow

good enough that if you gave me 14 chapters of each I could reasonably see this being the original and the spin off being official iruma, albeit original iruma would probably have to be condensed a bit

yeah it felt like they were pushing it really hard

was half expecting iruma to say smthn heartwarming like "it would have been way better if opera was just there instead" or sum

plot twist opera has cancer

I want it to lie with the police force, as of right now, since he still (rightfully) perceives them as "justice"

But he no longer sees Babel's mafia as the antithesis to justice, I think Iruma can work around that and make him a double agent, maybe take down the police if he ever gets caught (as a cool plotline/overarching narrative)

So like he;s investigating more and more of the police for Iruma, feeding intel to both sides, and then eventually comes to the realization that maybe the six fingers are behind the police and that they're corrupt now, and Az fights police while iruma finds 6 fingers and then boom final arc it's all coming together
