The story takes place in a world where humans developed alongside a threat, and only those with mana can effectively sense and resist the threat, but currently the comprehension of mana is low, like how humans first started working with electricity and discovering how to use and manipulate it took time, so to here, does the comprehension and knowledge surrounding mana seem deficient.
Imagine a world in which mana is truly a natural phenomenon, and not the result of any calamity or divine/demonic intervention.
So, in terms of reading this series, you have a well thought out magic system to ponder and explore alongside the MC.
That said, the core of this series is mainly on the MC and wholesomeness.
No updates for almost two years July, 2023 to April, 28th 2025
To make a good story, social dynamics are pulled from reality, given a coat of fictional details to hide the truth. Then released upon the audience.
Some can see the reality behind the paint, and others who can't handle such a reality continue to pretend that it cannot be that bad, because the cost of Introspection is too high for their ego and comfort.
Low pressure survival in an apocalypse.
Don't look for logic though.
Sex does not drain vitality, like all forms of exercise, too much can be bad for your, but equally, not enough is also bad for you, and those who fail to practice the moves will obviously become exhausted after one round, just as a person who never runs, will also feel exhausted when they attempt to run.
This misconception is rooted in an ancient observation an Asian scholar made about insects, a species so far removed from humans that such observations aren't relevant except in extremely minor ways. In particular they theorized that the lives of certain insects were short due to their sexual activities.
In reality, the stage in an insect's life in which sex often occurs, is frequently after years doing nothing but eating and sleeping, and the stage in which procreation occurs is tailored specifically for that purpose, often without any associated means of recovery, as is the case with mayflies which have no digestive system and are literally burning the reserves they saved from their previous stage in life. In other words, they're evolved to die for the sake of procreation.
Humans, and indeed most vertibrate species, rarely have such a single purpose physique, and most species of that sort, exist in the oceans, such as the male lantern fish of some of the lantern fish species. Which literally get subsumed by the females to the point where they're literally just a sperm factory for the female. However, this is exceptionally uncommon in vertibrate species, and most males can survive repeated rounds of intercourse without any noticeable impact on their longevity... And in fact it's normally the females who suffer more from the interactions, since the cost of supporting the next generation of life is greater than the cost of producing sperm. Some species offload some of that burden by laying eggs instead of live birth, but that doesn't mean there aren't risks all the same for the female of the species.
So, you don't need to worry about, or feel guilty for having a strong libido. Enjoy it, and like all forms of exercise, do it in moderation without reservations or fear of detrimental impacts on your longevity.
MC is OP... But not 100%
Definitely some deus ex machina instances, particularly noticeable in the π³ World arc... And the author is definitely showing signs of fatigue with the series, as the pacing is a touch jumpy, and seems to be skipping details at times during the π³ World Arc
The character naming for the support ghost. Needs to be consistent, and honestly, the naming scheme shown originally for the ghost is the height of bad naming skills Cyany? Really? At least the name chosen during the poor translation stages was better Qing'er (I think) at least is looks like a good name in English, even if it might still literally be the same as the name of a color, at least it's not a literal color anymore from an English language perspective.
Anyways... As people were complaining, the translations do indeed take a nosedive at chapter 124, with mostly direct translation and none of the turns of phrase and flourish that was the mainstay of the dialog in the series.
Vermilion Bird is called Rose finch for example the grandiosity has failed to be conveyed as a result. This translation is barebones, and lacks the engaging wordplay, and references to the history normally associated with the genre.
Also, it's clear that the pre/post celestial naming scheme is the result of machine translation, since they consistently have swapped out the terminology.
I assume whenever they mention Post, they mean Pre, and whenever they say Pre, they mean post. It's sad that the translations are so poor... But the series is entertaining despite the trashy translations. Also, the art is good, so that helps a lot.
It starts out as the synopsis states, but via world building and obviously plot, it leans away from the initial premise, but even the MC recognizes that things have gone way beyond what she initially intended for her life.
It's tthe story of a person, who despite their efforts, does have to grow, and expand their goals, simply because the world they're in is more complex than they originally imagined.
It's a good series, the romance isn't flashbang, and it's more realistic than most.
The Male lead, while standoffish, isn't unbearably so, and has immediate green flags floating around him.
The time llines of the events aren't exactly clear, but it does seem to take place over a larger period of time than many romances before the couple actually stop dancing around the subject, and address it.
Honestly , this isn't bad, things change, things expand as time goes on... But it's not Solo leveling in terms of rate of expansion.
After reading up to chapter 98, I'm pretty confident that this series will be likely to run for another 27 chapters at the least... Particularly when considering the spoiler someone else left.
Read it for yourself, make your own decisions, but definitely give it a chance.
The MC's level of competency includes acquiring the required protection she needs prior to any life threatening situations, and for the most part, she resolves most problems herself with only a realistic amount of assisting from the male leads.
Unlike the original character for which the term Mary-sue is derived, the MC here while not perfect, is rather realistic, not OP like some MC's with the background provided, but equally not a total flake who is constantly getting into danger and always requires saving by the male lead
So, despite the fact he's no longer stuck in a time loop, he's still not getting anywhere. π
I'd say this is a series that'd benefit from being rebooted.
However, the artwork isn't bad, it's different from similar series in the genre but not in a bad way.
I'll check it out... But based on the complaints about chapter length... I'm doubting the quality of this series already.
